Looking for ideas: SPL oriented setup

Hatchbacks are good for SPL....I've done a 150.6 with a single DD 9515 on a Kicker XS100...on term lab at a USACi show and in testing I've had a single DD 2510 at 147+ with only about 1500 watts in a small vented enclousure....
The box you use isn't anything out of the ordinary? That is 1 10" sub correct? Those are some pretty good numbers, any advice?

140 is cake... all about the install.. not so much about the moofer.
you build a good box design, and integrate it properly in your vehicle.. then any woofer you put in it, will turn numbers...

It is a '91 Nissan NX 2000... small hatchback. I have no idea what it peaks at, i'm guessing somewhere around 40-45htz

JordyO did a 50.? with 1-12" in a hatch //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I wasn't doubting the fact that it COULD happen, i was doubting my capability to make it happen //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
Dude, I am sure you can do it. We metered a guy with our TL a few weeks ago that did a 141.9 legal on the dash with 2 RE RE12s in a prefab vented enclosure off of a US Amps IS2200 in a stock jeep Cherokee sport. Those subs are rated at 150RMS and the amps is rated at like 750RMS I believe.

Yes it was an ordinary ported box...I was using a slot port....The box was designed so the port and the box volume could be fully adjustable...I did several test ...and it ranged from low 140's up to upper 140's...plus experimented with different box placement....me and a friend were bored oneday and wanted to see how loud we could get the 10 on the term lab...lol The measurements were taken at the kick panel....

very nice... Those DD's are nice subs. Maybe i'll look for a DD or MT 12/ 15 if one shows up in the classifieds. I'm waiting until April or so to buy so that I have time to save up.

I've never been metered. With talking to other ppl from around here I know there is a TL at SU. This summer I might make a trip up there to get metered.
With that high tuned of a box you wouldn't want to run it daily. I used to run a box at 45Hz with a single LI an wouldn't suggest running any higher then 45 for daily.

Were abouts in NY are you?

Jon

Is it too loud for daily or just sh1tty sounding? Let me know when you go, i may make a trip as well. I know oswego always has a few events during the summer once a month as well.

I Live down near Ithaca, about 1.5 hours from you.

I think the cheesiest sub ive ever gotten loud was an Insignia 12" ...143 db in a 90 blazer off of a 500 watt jensen amp....of course it took tons of tweaking on the box, but if you work with something enough you can get it loud. Now the sub might not last very long, but it will be loud at least once //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Id look in the classifieds for like a Mag 12 or 15 .... they get surprisingly loud off of very low wattage if you tweak your box to your ride.

It's a Volvo factory amp, so there's a custom wire harness between the head and amp.
