Looking for an alternator

I'm having a hard time finding an alternator for my car. I've contacted DC power, Singer, Power bastard and DB electrical all said no. I'm waiting on a reply from excessive amperage and mechman. The only place to say yes is qualitypowerauto.com with a 270 amp anyone have any experience with them? The last thing I want is a POS alternator that needs fixing all the time. Does anyone know why these company's won't offer an upgraded alternator? The quality power rep explained to me that its a cog pulley design so my idle output won't be improved much but at higher RMP it will go up. I figured it would be from rebuilding it's insides? So why wont the other well know company's offer the same? One of the other reps told be that chances are the 270 amp alt will be junk and I'll have problems, That i should just buy their universal alt and use that. But again I have a cog pulley. HELP!

Had to Google that. First time I've seen that on a stock car.

If mylows10 can't get you hooked up then you might have to get a stock alternator built.

You can have your stock one rebuilt to put out some more power most of the time.

Oh yea. think that's what qualitypowerauto was offering they want me to send them an alternator and for 350 they would make it 270 amps. I'm just nervous its going to cause me problems. What I'm not understanding is why one company would offer it but the well know trusted company's won't.

Stock is a 180 amp. You can't upgrade. Won't idle right. Use batts and caps if you need more power

Thanks for trying Mylows. So what do you think I can run max for wattage? I have a zed leviathan iii use to run a 2 way front active with a probable 3 way Someday. I was also stewing on the idea of using the 5-6 channel to run an 8 inch sub right behind my center console. along with 1500? for a 12 inch sub? If I can.
