Amp for a sand car.

Hey all,

I have a Berrin buggy style sand car that I would like to use my mp3 player to listen to music in. I have been told that this is possible using an amp to drive the speakers. However, I cannot get any help at the local best buy, and the local shops seem to only have $800 amps in stock. Any advise would be great. What is a good cheap amp for this use? Space wise, when 2 adults are in the car we are sitting shoulder to shoulder. The broken speakers are positioned behind the persons ear on the tube. Just would really like it if my son and I could scoot around town listening to my CCR tapes on the mp3.

Thank you for all the help in advance.

What's your budget? Check the classifieds here for something used. You can get a 3.5mm to male rca adapter to run the player into the amp.

look for a marine grade amp as well ... it will last longer in your situation ...

I will prob get flamed for this, but we like to use the older sony marine amps in our off road rigs and boats. They dont ever make rated power, but close to it, and they last a long time in those conditions .... they are cheap and usually plentiful on CL, flea bay, and the local pawn shops ...

Technology has come a long way, put all those songs in lossless or mp3 and use this amp

Amazon.com : RE Audio BT900.4 4-Channel Car Amplifier w/ Bluetooth Signal Processor (BT-900.4) : Car Electronics

Basically a third of that 800 bucks and you dont need a source head unit.

its bluetooth, pretty sure you have cellphones with bluetooth. just install it in an enclosed space with some pc fans for cooling.
