Looking for a single sub or a pair of 12s to blow away my CVRS

It's not accurate anyway. See my prior post to understand //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

winISD is based off theory, anyone with a and iq more than double digits knows the simple fact that it is not exact. what shows up on a computer screen and what happens in the real world are often 2 totally different things.

just an example, with my current setup entered in winsid the spl chart says i will be doing around 120, when im doing 144.5.

you can listen to a computer program all you want, ill take real world results, with actual systems.
WINISD isn't based off "theory"... Not in the way your trying to use the word. Speakers are pretty well understood, basic acoustics principles are very consistent and reliable... Car audio isn't voodoo. Most car audio fans just arent' intelligent enough to understand it or choose not to. Your car does 144.5 because winisd calcuates it in 1/2 space IIRC not 1/8th space in a very small room like a car.... Take your setup out of your car and you wont' do a over a 125. It's called cabin gain. WINISD is a tool and it works well for people who understand how to use it. ALot better than guess and check....

Secondly, 3db's when doubling speakers is pretty standard and pretty consistent. Alot more consistent than doubling power for 3db's since power compression always make that figure not quite work out. The only time you won't get very close to 3db's is if the doubling of the box size changes your cain gain. Regardless, 2 subs on a given amount of power are all things equal louder, have a greater potential for overall output if you add even more power, and do it with less distortion... Cone area trumps xmax in most cases because xmax requires power which generates heat and rising xmax increases distortion. More cone area simply requires more airspace...
