No it does not. I guess the X looks like a audiobaun. Same surround.

I like how some ppl say the x-10 will be louder some say the two 8's is this because the x8 hasn't yet become very common. I've heard the ct sounds meso is a monster to but that's just talk and we all know how that goes.

2 8s will be louder, should be comparable to a single 12.

The ribbed surround has been around for a while. Mirage used it to great effect in there home theater sub before they were brought out. The ribs serve a purpose when used correctly, it's a gimmick when imitated by lesser brands. Sorta like v-tec on a Kia?

Under high excursion the ribs serve as a spring kinda, helping to keep the cone linear during its travel by compressing and decompressing.

When the cone is static or at rest, this is the center stage or state. Go up then down, when you pass the rest position the cone can wobble a lil bit, also at extremes in either direction the surround cannot stretch so linearity can be affected. The ribs can stretch and collapse.

I think that is about right of an explanation, my memory is fading lol

I think there is a vid on youtube where DD explains the ribs. I'm just not sold on them the appearance really throws me off I'm sure they are a great product.
