from the stickyKeep in mind that length is a factor here as well. If you're doing a long run (>20 feet), you should use one size larger. It doesn't hurt to use a wire size that's larger than necessary, but it will usually cost more and can be more difficult to install.

You can still use it I think, but there would be power loss and maybe heat build up. I'm not sure, but regardless I would use at least 10 gauge like I said earlier. You won't get much power loss at all using 10 awg. How long is your run from the amp to the speaker?16 gauge: ~8.7 amperes8 ohms -
