Lcd vs plasma.. What one to buy and why??

You didn't read what I said...My TV has absolutely no buzzing. As for the people that I know that have buzzing, I know them online, so I've never been in the presence of their tv's...
yea i thought they were friends of yours, and you watched it at their house or something

If you have the Samsung A Series then I would upgrade. The B series are soon to be outdated and the A Series have been outdated for a year. The technology in tv's advance a tremendous amount in one year. The tv you have now is probaly equal to a very low end modern tv in picture and quality. Pretty much any new model would be an upgrade.
lol, no dude, you couldnt be more wrong //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

LCD. End of story. unless you don't wanna pay. For no money, a cheap plasma will be better than a cheap LCD.
lol $2000 is no money ? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

Forgot to add, If you have a A950 it has to be a 46 or a 55, But yea them sets are still top of the food chain, even this year, Gotta love backlit.. My A750 has some flashlighting and its annoying as fawk:verymad:
Yep mine is the LN55A950 I just say that yours was 52'... Yes I've heard that flashlighting and halo effect can be a problem on the A650 - A750.

also, why ? have you had equal lcds and plasmas viewed side by side, both calibrated watching 1080p/24?

450-550 isnt much better either lol,. Its not really the model # even tho the 750s processor is much better than even the 650 , its the screen size that sucks *** on the 52s //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Only buzzing plasma noise I've ever heard anyone talk about was coming from a samsung. Never heard of that with the pannys. Maybe if you stick your head right next to it, but I've never noticed it.

Pay attention,

"FOR NO MONEY" meant if you are talking about getting a bottom-line LCD.

720p LCD+60hz= flicker.

720p Plasma+60hz= gravy

1080p LCD+240hz+

For no money, a cheap plasma will be better than a lcd Thats why I thought you were referring to 2000 as no money

I dont get into the 60/120/240 refresh rates.. Above 120 is all a gimmick.. 120 hz refresh smooths out the pic enough for me, I dont need 240 hz interpolation warping my tv into basically a false image..

I know A LOT about TV's... trust me. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
lol.. Umm i sold them until last year and have been into HT for a while .. I know them very well.. Thats your opinion, now back it up with a reason WHY , not cuz " you know alot about tvs" lol Like I said have you seen the 2 comparables ( plasma vs lcd ) with no interpolation, fully calibrated, ran test on, done 3:2 pulldown and measured greyscale levels? if so please post em

That's lovely. but that can never be objectively reliable. A plasma TV performs very differently at different contrasts while an LCD remains constant. So you'd come up with an innumerable and fundamentally meaningless gob of data for just one comparison, much less and entire market of them.

I'm just giving you advice, i know what i'm talking about. If you just wanna sit hear and brag that you worked in a position similar to a bestbuy salesman, you can go fvck yourself and i'll continue on my way. Plasma TV's are limited to a refresh rate of about 60hz, which is normally fine for most signals unless you are really into gaming or are anticipating 3D technology as much as I am. A 240hz refresh rate blows anything plasma out of the water and gives you the capability to do anything you want.
