Last questions before I head out to home depot. please help

mmk got all that figured out, but one more q. Should I put glue between the basket and motor where the screws are, or would the screws be good enough?
I wouldn't glue the frame and motor, but some heat transfer grease between the two would be a very good idea. Your frame is a heatsink for the sub, it helps keep the driver cool. The grease will help transfer heat from the motor to the frame.

hmm interesting

thanks to you all, really good info. havent started yet, but **** I love ca.com, alot of info on this site and its like candy on halloween. And caraudio and electronics are so interesting to learn. Its so cool that I can make a blown sub work again with the right stuff and knowledge. Back in the day I thought that when a sub blows, then there is absolutely nothing you can do no matter the brand. Most people in ca shops I asked about reconing say that they would never touch it and would let someone else do it. well wtf. The only way to learn is to try. If I **** up ill try again, simple as that.
