There seems to be a lot of good knowledge here about the id8V3, so, I'll try to make this short and to the point...
I am currently running JL stealth boxes and am not happy with the SQ and output of them. I have played with an idq10 (version 1 I believe) in a sealed enclosure set in the back seat and like the sound I get from it.
I would like to replace the drivers in the stealth boxes with id8v3's, this would be an IB arrangement. I know they should blow the JL's away, but what can I expect going this route in comparison to the idq10 in the sealed box? I would much rather use the id8's instead of fabricating an enclosure in the rear deck for the idq10, but would like a reassurance I am not wasting my time with the id8's.
I am looking for SQ and some pretty good impact. Listen to all kinds of music. No fold down rear seats so the rear deck is where the subs will be installed. Will be powering them with a Phoenix Gold zx600Ti. Front stage is Zapco ck13.2 components.
Thanks for your opinions.
