Kinetik Questions for Experience People!!!

Well most of you know that my durango has been down and out because of electrical issues that I caused a while ago running high daily voltage... well now i have a powermaster 3.6 volt stepdown module for my computer and ect...

My question is... can the Kinetik 2400s take 15.5 volts daily without having to big of a problem?!?!?!

I would like to just buy 16 volt batts.....but I dont have the money

I don't see it as a prob. At the moment with my car running High voltage up front ( optima yellow top ) 15.6 and 15.2-4 at the Kinetik 2400 in trunk. Hope it helps.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

First question is what regulates your voltage?

What is your voltage before the stepdown?

Does your voltage regulator kick down to a lower voltage when the engine is warm / batteries are full like a standard 12v system would?

The 12v line of Kinetik can handle 15.0v daily, but the 15.5v will lead to shortened lifespans. There are guys who push 16.0v at shows, but that is a much shorter time period than a daily application.

As said above, the HC16V lists for $100 less than the HC2400, so buying the HC2400 new would be MORE than the HC16V new. Not to mention there are plenty of used HC16V F/S here at very low costs.
