First let me start off by saying that I know nothing about car audio in comparison to most on this board (as you might have gathered by my title's verbiage).
I was in a co-workers car a few months back and he happened to have some old school Metallica on, I believe it was the ...And Justice for All album. Anyhow, the drum's snare in most of the songs he played had this intense sound, kind of like a solid, clean CLAP. It sounded insanely good (to me anyway).
The guy no longer works for the company and was just an acquaintance so I don’t have any way to get a hold of him to find out exactly what he had. He had some money into the system, but nothing ridiculous, I didn’t get any specifics though regarding the different components. The only thing I remember is him saying that he had nothing more than a set of 6x9s in the back deck and some 6.5 components up front, I don’t remember the brand, or if he mentioned it.
I know this is a very vague question, but if anyone knows what I’m talking about please chime in. I would really like to get my setup to sound similar.
