Kid at school selling 2 13w7's for 600 for both

If you want my honest opinion, they are worth the price....it's like buying a Ferrari. Sure, you could get that new z06 Corvette for much less money and get nearly identical performance, but what would you buy if you had the cash? The one with the hand craftsmanship, good reputation, and ultimately a legendary heritage would win my vote if money was no option. I think most people in real life would take the JL's which have proven themselves and really leave you with nothing to worry about when you purchase them.
Not quite the same. Chevy hasnt won many race titles (at least compared to Ferrari), the z06's suspension is sub par, the Ferrari more than likely has multiple suspension and traction controll set ups for your mood, and to many is more visually appealing. Ferrari is also more rare and is a status symbol. Ferrari also has Formula 1 paddle shifting among other options to make it slightly better for a more heafty price tag.

Only Tools drive a Ferrari because it is a Ferrari and they have the money to buy it. Sadly most people using ferraris to commute are tools. I say using ferraris to commute because most tools also dont DRIVE the car. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/furious.gif.fc81ca146dbff91fede3ed290dbc4f4c.gif

Some people are tools and have JL because it is JL but many have it because they heard it was the best from their friend or the retailer or they truely enjoy the JL product.

The bit about the 12's and 13's adding their own twist to your music is something I'm sure you are imagining. I think if this were true the editors and audiophiles reviewing them out there would have pointed this out. I have never had a problem with the SQ personally.

I am not trying to argue or sound like a dick, I just think there is constant bias against JL products on internet forums, and I think that they are actually rated lower around here than they should be, mainly due to price.
Every component in a JL Audio woofer is engineered from scratch. Everything from the voice coils, surrounds, frames, right down to any screws or glue mixes that hold the thing together, even the shipping boxes and any shipping materials used to ship components from factory to factory are designed starting with a blank sheet of paper. There is NOT 1 piece in the speakers that is off the shelf. This in itself is a humongous feat, and the reason why JL takes Years to release new products.

Every new product is tested extensively not only by audio engineers in test benches but also in different car setups by Engineering patrons as well as JL Audio's owner/founder. Lastly, all of JL's speakers are manufactured In-House in the Miramar, Florida facilities. Production lines are manned by trained technicians that get paid well above market value... The end result is a proven product that is backed by one of the largest and most reputable mainstream audio companies in the world.

Adire does the same thing minus the baskets. Does that make them a great company? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Search dingle bat. You obviously know very little about car audio past what the average shop sells. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Adire used to be a great company with a great produce. The Brahma and Tumult are both very compareable to the w7 in performance and sound. Adire holds the patent for the XBL^2 Motor Topogrphy... Dan moves to his own build house and looses his mind...A big blow up with low-Hz.com and his products failing and 10 month recone turn around times, years to get a steady ammount of woofers produced and then he screwes his long time friend and a good company promoter.

Adire formulates their own surrounds and makes the majority of their own soft parts and motors in house. Their baskets, and almost nothing else, are OEM. That is about it.

Adire is also the OEM builder for a number of other companies. In fact their Adire woofers that they sell are only a very small percentage of their anual income. They build for other companies. I wouldnt do business with them if it where free.

TCsounds is a similar story only not quite as extreme. It more has to do with one of their spokes persons aditude. TCsounds builds for MANY companies including Eclipse and high end Lightning Audio.

Chevy hasn't won many race titles, exactly. You proved my point. They are like the Fi if you are comparing Fi vs. JL here. (For convo's sake, not because we have to use Fi). Good product, but not quite as proven, however will yield similar results to people who know what they are doing.

The z06's suspension is not sub-par. You talk out of your *** when you start to say what a Ferrari "most likely" has and insult the z06.

The Corvettes transverse leaf springs serve the same purpose as coil springs in other vehicles, but they are lighter, allow for the vehicles mass to be closer to the ground, and allow for lighter anti-roll bars since they can assume some of that duty. They're main disadvantage is that they are more expensive than coil springs.
The Z06 offers very impressive performance for it's price; it's track times are on par with some of the greatest production performance cars in the world

The new C6 Z06 Corvette may lack the refinement of its European competition but on the track it can give them a run for their money.

Only rich snobs that aren't true auto enthusiasts would insult the new C6 Z06.

Really? Yes, many are tools. I happen to know a couple guys in my area, however, that are true enthusiasts. You know, like the people running JL who are true audiophiles. A friend of mine's dad who owns 3 or 4 Ferrari's, including the Enzo, doesn't own them to get looks. He truly appreciates the engineering and sophistication of the Ferrari sports cars. It's just like those who run JL because they like the degree of expertise used in building the products.

Can't argue with that. Different people buy things for different reasons.

I take it you are adding to my post and agreeing with it. I know all this, because I have toured the JL audio headquarters and build facility extensively and met Manville Smith and the crew, and even demoed their rides.

If you are lucky enough to get the tour like I did, you will have a lot more respect for JL and what they are, and what they have done to our audio industry. They have always pushed the envelope and have consistently made excellent products.

Please. You are really comparing Apples to Oranges now. Maybe Adire would be a "great" company if they had the success JL has had in recent years? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

No ones trying to say JL is a bad company, they make great audio equeptment all they're saying is its overpriced....its like your saying JL is the best sub there is whichwe all know theres no such thing as "the best sub" which makes this arguement....pointless

Incorrect. Fi has already won more SPL world titles than JL. So has RE, Adire, DD... JL isnt even winning big time SQ competitions. Kicker has been beating out JL for a while in the SQ competition department. That goes with out mentioning true audiophil companies like rainbow.

Yes, the z06 has an inferior suspension. Chevy is still using leaf springs on the c6's. I say most likely about the ferrari because most ferraris do. Especially ones compareable to the z06 on performance terms. But this isnt a car discussion.

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif I wasnt saying only tools drive ferrari. I said only tools drive ferrari because they are drving a ferrari.

Also, Adire unsuccessful? You realize that when they where sucessful as a store front that still only made up a small percentage (like 3%) of anual income. Adire builds for companies you wouldnt think they built for.

And if JL is always pushing the envelope then how come the w7 is still their top woofer when it has been outperformed on more than one occasion? They've had how long to revamp it?

Because JL is concerned about their image. Winning SQ/SPL competitions or having Broncos with 22 w7's isnt really the image they want to put out there....... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif
