just ordered a set of the ID OEM's from hessdawg.

I have a Kicker 700.5 right now, but i think i am going to bridge the 4 channels on the Kicker and pick up a small tweeter amp.

ahhh nice. i hear these ID's are pretty efficient (91db) so i am expecting them to really sing with 200 watts each. IIRC, the rsd's are 88db.

Yea, i'm probably going to try 100w for the ID's, but I'm sure I'll want more. Most are pushing over 100w to them.

cant wait for your review on these and how they compare to the Rsd's. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I think im gonna order myself a pair.. only thing im hoping on is that they'll fit, since they look a lil big -->

should have them tomorrow. hopefully they will fit right in w/o any problems. i am thinking i may have to add another 1/4" to my baffles, but we will find out tomorrow night. if i have a chance i will give a quick review with my first impressions tomorrow as well. but i hear that they require a little break in time before they really loosen up so a real review won't be for a little while.

2 weeks break in period would be really fair for these(and that's playing them on average for 30-60 minutes a day).

I'm sure you'll really enjoy them!

i'll make sure to speed the process up a tad. i have no life so i can easily play them for an hour or 2 a day for a week if i want. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

i really hope the install goes smooth and that i like them as well. as long as the mid-bass is as strong as the mid-bass on the RSD's and i get a cleaner sounding mid-range i'll be happy. from what i have read the mid-range is crystal clear on these.

got them today, and put them in. all went smoothly. they sound GREAT!

the first couple minutes they sounded kinda weird, but after a few minutes they cleared up. got to play them for about an hour, maybe an hour and a half and so far i love them. can be very very punchy on certain stuff, and they are crystal clear from 80hz/12db all the way up to 2.5k/12db. the mid-range is sooooo much clearer but also has more kick in the mid-range. the snare on certain stuff really smacks ya in the face. the mid-bass is good, very comparable in output to the rsd's but cleaner and punchier for sure. when i had them in my hands i pushed on the cone a little back and forth ans they are STIFF, very STIFF. they will definitely come ot life after some good beating.

here are a few pics of the right side door. had already put the left side door back together but figured i'd snap a few pics before i put this side back together. enjoy....

also, i never realized that the phase plug on a phase plug speaker moved with the cone. i always thought it was stationary like a coaxial speaker. never knew that until i had these in my hands. very cool!

Im so ready to get mine here next week //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

And nice review tcguy85, they look great in that door.

thanks! and i'll post up a real, formal review after i get some more time on them, gotta let them loosen up. like i said the suspension is super tight on them. the feel like baby subwoofers. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Hey man are they worth the $90? I'm ordering my 4.150 in the next day or two and I was gonna pick these ID's up off hess while he's still got them since they seem to be a great deal! I was thinking about just sticking with the RSD's active for a while and hiding the ID's from myself for a few months so I can really notice the upgrade lol...

Are they worth it though? Do they hit harder/get louder? That's the most important part for me... I CRAVE more midbass!

Also, did you have to shim them out an extra 1/4"?

so since i have no life i went for a drive and listened, sat in a parking lot for a little bit and listened to them pretty loudly, then drove home playing them a little more. so i probably have about 4 hours on them already even though its only day one. they sound really really good, i can even tell an increase in mid-bass already. i can't imagine what its going to be like in a week or two since everybody says they need a lengthy break in.

certain music i almost couldn't stand to listen with the rsd mids, no matter what i did i could never completely tame the mid-range and i always blamed the recording but i guess i was wrong. of course some recording just plain old **** but anyway. with these i haven't found anything yet that sounds harsh or edgy and thats with the EQ pretty much flat, and i sampled quite a bit of music on them. i definitely wouldn't call these "laid back" as they can have quite a kick to them when it comes to drums, but the mid-range is soooo buttery smooth.

really awesome mids, especially for 90 bucks! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
