Just getting back into car audio

I need some advise since I have been out of car audio for awhile. Please correct me if anything I have noticed is wrong.

1. Nothing is Made in USA unless it is really expensive/competition stuff.

2. Small in size amps put out tons of power.

3. Every well known company was bought by someone and out sourced most everything.

Next, what I really want to talk about. I am just looking to do nice upgrades to my truck, 2004 Silverado Crew Cab "Bose". I want to put new components front and back in the stock locations, who makes the best components in the $150-200 range? I was looking at the Rockford T252-S or T2652-S. What size will fit in the factory door location? I will be powering those with an Arc Audio KS 300.4.

Next, I want to do a singe sub because I don't want to lose a bunch of cargo space. I have a JL 500/1. My truck is the Crew Cab, what would be the best single sub that hits super low? I would like to not take up more room, sub and amps, than just behind the back seat.

The JVC KW-AVX840 is what I was going to do up front, I like it because it has a fully detachable double din face which is very handy in my home town, we have a high car theft rate.

Please let me know if you think I will be getting the most bang for my buck with this set up, thanks.

Thanks for the info, can you help on my other questions?

What sub should I get that hits very low in tight space with a JL 500/1 pushing it?

What components would be best in the 150-200 range? Are those I listed any good?

I wouldnt get those components, check out the Massive CK6 Stag5 they can be had for 170 sound great and take a beating. for the sub look for something that does well in small sealled like a Dayton HO or a idqv3.

Which components are you talking about, the DDs?

Yeah, most of the old greats went to **** or were bought out and went the same way. Little is made in USA anymore, on the bright side Korea today is what Japan was in the 80's so many of the Korean amps are fairly good quality, the Stetsom and Soundigital are Brazilian made and though I've heard some mixed reports, I've had good luck with a couple Stetsom amps I've used. Most of the woofers use Chinese parts, the better ones are assembled in USA and use American made coils. You can indeed get loads of power out of a very small package these days and for reasonable price per watt.

RF components are not very good IMO. There's lots of options out there (read the forum a bit). For mainstream stuff the Alpine type R sub and components are very good for the price.

For substage, you can have small box, low extension, or efficiency, but only two of these. Decide which you can sacrifice and plan sub accordingly.

W6v2 or Dayton HO for small boxes with nice lows.

As for components, those DDs crx has get great reviews. Also pioneer TS d1720c very good budget set and i love Boston acoustics comps.
