JL audio w7 v.s. ______

Originally posted by snova031 Last time we went throught this you thought you knew the design- but you were completely wrong. What makes you think you've got it right this time?

Until you hear it, I suggest keep your mouth shut about it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
Actually I was right about the design. But it turned out that in mid production they changed the spider spacer to a thinner piece which is the one they used to DUMAX it. Ben was kind enough to clear that up for me.

I wish I could hear one. My guess is that it will sound very similar to the IDMAX. But I have talked to those who have heard both and heard their comments on it. They confirmed my suspicions.

I hope you guys aren't thinking that I'm trying to put the sub down. It is a very nice sub, as I have said many times. I think it is a bargain for the price. So I don't understand why you guys are getting so defensive about this.

put that magical ear to the test and things will be fine.... only predictions my man only predictions......

i though rf sucked until i heard that 1000 watt hx2

Weren't you comparing the K series to the W6 without hearing them?

Originally posted by snova031 You downplay it- say it's not on the same level as so and so, yet you haven't had a head to head comparison- which isn't just at all...think about it...
So how is saying it is a bargain for it's price downplaying it? All I'm saying is that a $250 sub isn't the best sub ever produced on the planet. It is very well engineered using existing technology. Both the W7 and Brahma use very brilliant but different innovative designs based off of similar engineering goals. These goals were laid down by Dr. Kipple and David Clark. The two subs are the closest designs to reach those goals and that's why I feel they are on top. The W7 has a slight advantage due to some custom parts which give it a little more travel beyond linearity, plus some other innovative custom features. But that came at the price of a higher price tag. So that's why I feel they are on top.

The A is in a lower price point and although performs very well, isn't quite as close performance wise as the Brahma to the W7.
Remember saying that? You did about 20 minutes ago- that is what I call downplaying- You HAVE NOT HEARD THE A SERIES YET- how can you dictate it's performance?

*sighs*

You are missing the point. The point is you haven't heard the sub. Design is only half the battle.

ok let me explain myself b/c i'm tired of bullshyt

we had a chatroom

it was

john, steve, mike, jer, and myself

i asked them (what are the 12w6v2's compable with on ED's side)

steve and john both said the ed k.....

so like everyone else in this dam forum.... high rollers opinions matter. and i did value their opinion and believed them...... so i was comparing them all the time b/c of what i was told.... so when i slap a pic of them up on the monitor, everyone starts sayin i'm crazy and shyt - #1 its just a freaking picture #2 i learned my lesson not to believe shyt anyone says anymore on here b/c it could be false or they could be setting you up.

oh yeah and i saw all that shyt everyone was sayin in that other forum too

its funny when someone thinks they are talking about someone when really the person that they got their info. from in the first place is the person that is talkin the shyt :: so really they are talking about themselves......

But I'm not downplaying it. I'm saying it isn't as close to performing like the W7 as the Brahma does. Wouldn't downplaying it be saying it doesn't compare to other subs in it's price range? But notice instead I say it is a bargain.

You haven't heard the sub! AHHHHH!!!!!! You can babble on about design all you want, but you can't reach a legitimate conclusion without actually hearing the product.

It's a $300 sub...how do you know what it will do next to a Brahma or a W7?

If you have sat down, tested each woofer in multiple enclosures, vehicles, power, etc., and came to the conclusion that the A is inferior to the Brahma and W7, ok, that's good, but you haven't.
