Is your school having an empty holster protest?

I certainly wouldn't want to be in the same room with some strapped Asian kid that had just been Rick Rolled 4 times in a row, while trying to click on some World of Warcraft ****. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

dont get me wrong, i am all for conceal and carry, hell im hoping to get mine in the next year or so. but there are places that you should not be allowed to have a gun, think about how many hot headed young morons there are in the world, think about how many of them post on this forum, now imagine giving them the right to carry a gun to class with you. im sorry, but i dont think having a gun at school is a bright idea.
What about the ones that already have their permit and can carry everywhere else?

Changing a school policy to allow students to carry is not going to make all of the students go out and get their permit to carry just so they can carry on campus.

Before Minnesota passed their law allowing concealed carry, the opponents of it were saying that every little argument would turn into a shootout and it wold be like the wild west. That never happened.

Now that people want to be able to carry on campus, everyone is saying that every little argument would turn into a shootout. It won't happen, just like it didn't happen in the rest of the state.

edit - I wouldn't trust half the people on this forum with a butter knife. Most of the people here don't have permits to carry either, so this is a non issue for them.

I am happy I am out of school.
This is the stupidest thing I've ever heard, go play with your guns after school.

I've witnessed the maturity level of thousands of kids from moving to about 6 different high schools and I would never give 99.9% of any of those kids guns.

Retarded. The teachers should have a gun for west virginia prevention....
This is about colleges. 99% of high schoolers can't get a permit to carry.

the more comfortable people get carrying guns, the more comfortable they will be shooting them, i say more guns=more problems
Well your an idiot. The more people that actually go to a class and learn gun safety, the less people will die accidently. Its amazing that we have had guns for hundreds upon hundreds of years and we have gotten along just fine, yet the new pussification of America, everyone wants guns off the streets, yet the streets will always have guns, whether its legal or not.

exactly my point, guns+large groups of people=bad idea
You do know that every bar, restaurant, movie theater, etc allows people to carry right? I would be willing to bet that the last time you were at a mall, someone you walked by was carrying.

for idiots like me.
Best this i have read from you yet.

Actually any place that sells 51% or more sales in alcohol, you are not permitted to carry into, ie most bars/clubs.

wtf?

I do think that every single kid in college having a concealed weapon is a bad idea, and there should definitely be a push for more regulations on getting a concealed weapons permit for a college campus.

However, I'm not totally opposed to the idea. Was watching something on the news a couple weeks ago. A story about a kid who was paralyzed and went to school. If anything ever went down, that kid would be absolutely helpless. Cases like this, I don't have a problem at all with concealed weapons.

I know some states are like that. I was just using restaurant as an example because some states you can.

Ahh your right, its enforced by TACB so it is state by state. I personally feel that that is a good law, alcohol and guns dont mix well, but i do think that anywhere else we should be allowed to carry. TX just passed the castle doctrine which allows you to used deadly force no matter where you are, if you are threatened.
