could be a result of the tinsels loose connection causing a condition similar to clipping.....
Yup. I think its a combination of this and i wasnt pushing center

Pushing in center results in no noise. Thank god.

you should order up some new tinsels and fix it before it toasts it completely, though....
The tinsels are already broken.. One of the tinsels is pulled off of the dust cap and I have no idea how to fix that. I can easily solder them when it comes off the terminal but the dustcap I dont know how to get into it to resolder it on there.

 
yup time for a recone.

when this happens ya remove the dust cap and only will find the solder connection burried in glue. you wont get another good solder connection after digging it out and if you dont break the coil lead being that its alum....
