Is there a point when 1 10 inch sub is not enough?

what do you have powering your front stage? If its not that great, it might be time to get rid of both amps and step up to a nice 5 channel.

Actually that is a 2004-5 model year Sony, and it makes rated power. Sorry to dissapoint you guys ..... If you can keep over 14v, it actually makes around 600 rms x 1 @ 4ohms mono .... and around 460 rms @ 12.6 v ...

not really a bad amp.

not that i dont trust you, but i like to verify things. do you have any source for that? ^ i have no problem being wrong but before i tell people that amp does rated because you said so, is there a different source i can utilize?

man, you can believe what ever you want. You don't have to trust me, Why don't you go get one, and put it on your test bench, and check it for yourself.

err there was nothing against you in my statement, people are way too defensive on here. i even said explicitly "not that i dont trust you."

I ask because down the line when i see someone with it and maybe i want a cheap amp to resell or i want to know if it puts out rated, i can say confidently "yes it puts out rated heres why" not, "yes it puts out rated and some guy i trust online told me so."

Look through my posts, If I'm saying an amp makes blah x blah @ blah @ blah volts, it is because I have had one on my test bench, and know 1st hand what it makes ... in this case I've had a couple of them on my bench, both made rated power at 14+ volts, just under at 12.6 volts. Just as I stated above.

You asked for a back up source, I don't have one, as I do my own testing. SO, looks like the only way you will believe it is if you go buy one, put it on your own test bench, and see the numbers for your self ...so that is what I suggested you do ...

And this pertains this particular amp too. Most of the newer Explode line does not make rated power, even at 14v ....

i never said i dont believe you either? im not sure of the tension here, if you don't like the fact that i wanted a source then i guess too bad. i never questioned your truthfulness, or your accuracy, or that you bench test amps. nor did i say you're spouting second hand crap, trying to deceive me, stole my girls *******... wait what.

anyway you get the point man i was just asking for a source if you had it, if you would of just said, i bench tested it myself and i didnt get any pictures, or i dont have a source, i would of been happy with that.

the only time i believe it is not when i bench test it myself, no. To be clear, i do believe you, but that doesnt mean i will tell this information to someone else based off that. i like references, i like sources, i like knowing what i tell someone is a fact and i like to show them my proof of it so everyone is on the same page, and the main reason is because i go back and read my references so its extremely helpful for me to keep that knowledge active, i do the same thing with knowledge for my pilots license.

Nope, sold amps, deleted bench/clamp pics off phone a few months ago ....btw, their marine amps seem to almost always make rated power too ...

A good box makes a big difference.

However, I wouldn't spend a lot of money on a box for a cheap sub on low power. May be best to save money and upgrade everything later on
