Is the kappa perfect a SQ sub?

Was told today by an audio shop that kappa perfects are not SQ subs. Also was told that Infinity sucks for cars (I understand they don't get loud, but do they ****?)

Anyway, let me know what ya think. I'm looking for a SQ sub for around $100 so I figured the kappa perfects would work.

Who the hell told you Infinity doesn't have SQ? Thats what they are all about. My 12VQ sounded amazing and considering I only ran it off 100W for 3/4 months I had it...and gave it 424W later and really opened it up. Was in 2.25 slotted at 28.

The Kappa Perfect is more SQ than anything else....No Infinity's subs aren't exactly the most powerful but they are very clean. By no means does Infinity's car audio ****.

yes, they are a sq sub. from what i hear.. but i dont think theyll get loud to the point they can hurt. at least not as loud as my single idMAX.. even if u had 2!

My single VQ got loud for what it was and especially the lows. Mmmhmmm. Those lows felt nice and sounding amazing. Mmmmhhmmm. I miss that sub //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif But my GTi suits me nicely now.

I'm not looking to make that much noise. I'm not looking to pay for DB levels that I'll never use. I'm simply looking to build an inexpensive system in my daily driven VW GTI that has great sound quality. That's all.

Maybe the guy told me they weren't "really a sq sub" because I was asking about alumapro's lol. I had no idea the alumapro subs were so expensive! They want $300 for one 12" sub (authorized), 3 years parts and labor warranty. They're the only authorized dealer in Indianapolis. As much as I would LOOOOVE an alumapro, I can't see spending that kind of money. What is the next best SQ sub to the infinty, as far as price stepping. I know the next step is likely too steep, but figure I might as well check.

Well im at school so sounddomain is blocked but I think they still have the cosmetic blemish VQ's for sale for $180. thats where I got mine. the blemish is bubbles in the magnet sticker...whoopty...mine had about two bubbles and worked like a dream..saved like 100 bucks too...

Yes, they still have them discounted. Cool find. I'll consider it, but 4ohm SVC speakers aren't my preference.

I'm glad everyone agrees that Infinity kappa perfects are SQ subs. For a minute I thought I was going to lose my mind.

decent sub, I would look at the Eclipse Aluminum or SoundSplinter RL-i or Power Bass ES for comparable subs for a good price

^^^And I know the pb subs and soundsplinters can handle more than their rms, something I wouldnt dare do with the Infinitys.

ya infinity = SQ. had a vq, and twas a beautiful sub, and made my mirror shake more than my LI for some reason. just dont run too much power on them.

What shop in indianapolis were u at, i want to go in there and smack the guys that told u that. i have had kappas and kappa perfects, and if installed correctly, they will be some of the sweetest sounding subs youve ever heard. i suggest a perfect 12 in a slot ventetd box tuned around 28-32 hertz.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif
