Hey everyone,

I currently have 2 10" Kicker CompVR (2005 model) subs in a sealed box. (.6 cuft for each sub). And i am feeding them 350watts each..

I cant put the kickers in a proper sized box because of the limited space in the back of my truck.

I was thinking about putting 1 12" Alpine Type R in a seal box built to spec (.86 cu ft) and feeding it around 900watts.

I have a feeling the sound quality will be better without a doubt, but what about the spl? Will the Single alpine in a proper box kick the kicker's butts?

Thanks,

Nick

Well wats the smallest i could go with? if i have to ill get a bed cover and put it in the bed and i can put it behind the seat casue i dont think it will fit .

im planning on taking the bench seat out at xmas and getting two bucket seats then ill have room in the middle for a tall/long box about the size of an armrest.

im jsut tryin to figure out wat i can do till xmas.

For a Type R, the ideal ported box is around a 2.5 cube box, after displacement. So somewhere around 2.8 cubes net.

Well you see the kickers i have now are in a box that is to small for them, so i dont think they are really sounding as good as they are known to be...

In the past i had an RE SE 12" in a sealed box (1.25cu ft) with 600watts. Does anyone know as to how the Alpine would be in comparision to my previous SE setup?

As my kickers sound NO WHERE NEAR that se, i know its most likely the install but i dont have the room to fix the kickers..

Thanks,

Why would you go from an SE to some CompVR's?

Its a long story, but i sold my truck i had the SE in and took out my stereo equipment, then i bought a new truck and got into some finacial trouble so i had to sell my SE's (i actully had 2, but only ever put 1 in). Anyways when i got some money back i figured i would just stick some kickers under the back seat in my truck, but once i did that i realized that wasnt going to settle my need for Premium loud sound in my truck. haha...

This is just a crappy paint image idea i made do you think it would make any diffrence...Nvm ill figure it out later

when i said box size i meant like 0x0x0 ya know like the box measurements
