Is my sub ALREADY blown or is it my box?

Check this shit out. You made this plan in the pic. Well, to put it simply, no you didnt. You messed it up, you didnt build it right. Its very obvious by the video. You have a 13.5" sub, correct? Well, the box plan only calls for a 14" height of the box. You have way more room than 14" judging by the size of the 13.5" sub. Your box is too **** big, its not built to that design at all.

y bother, hell come back with a excuse

um just a little fyi the box you linked the specs to is 14 inches tall and 16.5 inches deep by 32 inches wide. You even said twice that your box is 17.5 inches tall and 16.5 deep. by 32 inches wide. just cut the top and bottom down. 17.5 - 14 = 3.5 inches so cut 1.75 inches from the top and bottom of the box the full width of the box. also what are the measurements of the port? like take a tape measure and shove the thing down the port and give us a total length of the port. if your port is right its just shaving down a little width not too hard to fix. so take the tape measure and shove the tip inside the port then take sub out and from the inside of the box place the tip on the end of the port then measure from that point to the surface of the box where the port stops and post up that number. And fyi ppl here have knowledge on real car audio. ppl here haven't just heard things they have proven knowledge so if they say something LISTEN. not one person on the face of this planet knows everything about car audio. and since you even said yourself that the size wasn't to spec but you keep insisting it is. then say I built it to spec but say your father or step father built it .... truth be told it was built wrong you acted like a jerk to everyone who tried to help. I'm surprised that the awesome people who are a part of this site have stuck with this thread and tried to help despite your many disrespectful retorts. next time you post anything be respectful and above all else LISTEN.

Im sure he will. Bottom line, that box is not built to spec. If he cant get that through his head he SHOULD give up on subs. Cuz honestly, if you can use a box calulator online, its NOT hard at all to figure out the d*man box size/volume. Better yet, hes asking what to cut the box to, when its RIGHT THERE. All he has to do it look at the box plan, measure and mark the box TWICE before cutting, and there you go. Box built to correct size.

probably be easiest to cut the right side off to whatever length would give the correct cuft and then simply glue on a new piece

the sub wouldnt be perfectly centered, but it would work

Ya but that would be too hard and too much work. He needs us to tell him EXACTLY how to cut the box, even tho the measurements are right in the thread...

funny thing is, ever since people go on him about ot being appreciative, hes backed off with the dumbass comments. and hes still viewing the thread

i guess its normal tho, i was like that 4 years ago, but its whatever. gotta grow up and if you ask for advice, and you dont like it, dont come back and act like your right. cuz if u were, u wouldnt be askin for help right? right

whatever happened to the vid he said he was gonan take that showed exactly what was going on.

i know he posted one when he put the sub in, but i was to busy laughing at the vocals coming from it to notice anything else

Width 32 inch
Height - 17.5

Depth - 16.5

Thickness - .75
Maybe if you hadn't built the box 3.5 GODDAM INCHES TOO TALL you wouldn't be in this pickle.

Don't get on here actually showing the plans for the box, putting up your box's dimensions with different numbers, and then say "I built the box right".

But while that's a 3.3cu box instead of a 2.5cu box (or it should be anyway) it's still tuned to 29Hz if you made the port right. Go and measure your port. Is it 2.5" wide with a 11.25" long end piece? If your sub was bottoming out I've got a sneaking suspicion your box is tuned crazy high as well.

OK guys, you got me!

I just thought it wasn't possible from the person who built it! Yes, I'm wrong. And it will be fixed within the next week.

Thanks guys for putting up with me. Hate me or w/e the dude that built it has been in carpentry for over 35 years. Just didn't see it happening. No not an excuse, just a thought.

Is it ok to play the sub on -15 and bass 0 from the head unit for now?
