Is my sub ALREADY blown or is it my box?

It may not be way more like i said, but it looks bigger. I would suggest you got out and measure all the outside dimensions of your box, then throw them into a box calculator and double check your volume..

Also, if you made it to spec of that plan, it should be like 2.7 or so cubes. I know its still not a ton of difference. But go double check the dimensions of your box to know for sure what volume you have. You may have measured wrong or something when you built the box.

well whats done is done.
It's not constant, only when its really turned up.
So your saying your not going to troubleshoot for the problem and just destroy that sub you just spent all that money on? Just go check the box size. I have a feeling its too big.

^^^^ thats your bad sound. I have someone do the same thing, they glued the top front and forgot to screw down one of the 4 sides and it sounded like hell.. the guy went

through 2 subs and finally someone pushed on the box and the sound went away.

well what am I going to do? It's already blown. I will later. I'm eating a sandwich.
Um what you can do is double check the box volume. Thats the first, and easiest thing to do. Its not blown yet. Its still good, but keep running it as is and it wont last long at all..

O ya by the way, i remember you said something about a bad smell from your port. I had that happen, not the same smell. But it was the silicon i used. Did it smell like the glue you used? Just a side note haha..

Ah ok well post up when you check the box dimensions. Dont keep playing the sub for now. You dont honestly want to ruin the sub you paid so much for, do you? Its not messed up yet im pretty sure if its still working until turned way up

I don't think you're screwed, you just need to either build a new box or find a way to lessen the effective area of that one. That's why it sounded so bad, it was flapping free at high volumes and low frequencies.
