Is my friend insane for this combo?

My friend has decided on a new setup, and to me, it sounds a little nuts. All he has told me so far is what subs he is getting. He was originally gonna get 4 Infinity Kappa Perfects, and he was gonna order 2 at a time, for money purposes. Well he ordered the first 2, then he decided he was gonna stop from gettin the 2 other Perfects and get a 15'' L7. Now I heard somewhere that mixing an SQ sub and an SPL sub together in a setup isn't exactly a good thing. I have no idea what kind of amp he is using for these. I didn't really see anything wrong with it until someone brought the mixing of subs thing up to me. Is this a good combo for SQL, like he wants????

He could always set them up to play at seperate times. Just turn on the 10's or the 15 seperatly. Have the 15 play deeper tones and the 10's for more a tight bass, but just don't do it at the same time.

He'd be better off getting 2 more kappa's, the SPL increase would be similar, but would sound better. It also wouldn't look gaytarded.

Jim is right...never mix and match drivers. The cancellation will kill you. Either run one or the other. Their is no such thing as allowing "the 10s to play the TIGHT bass and the 15 to play the deep bass" Driver size doesnt affect woofer speed (I know I know, there was a huge debate about this-This statement was directed towards the audiophile crowd) Just use the 15 or the 12s

lol.....no it isn't the same friend. He has to take alcohol classes for the drunken thing, got his licence taken away, fines, etc. Long story, don't need to talk about it again.....lol
