And i would suggest using a test tone. You can get them off ROE.
And if you dont like the output after that you will need a bigger amp.
Preamp Voltage is 2.2 voltsif your head units preamp output voltage is terribly low, then there's a chance that full gain will be optimal. But there's about a 99% chance that this isnt the case and after a certain point your amp will begin to clip, and your sub will blow....
Your signal is clipped before you ever see 2.2 actual volts out of it. You just can't ask for more out of equipment than it has. Thats why car audio gets expensive. Gains are a standard you start fresh go from there, thats what you get.Preamp Voltage is 2.2 volts
My HU's (Pioneer DEH-P5800MP) internal amp is powering speakers now. I do have sony 600w 4/3 channel amp but its not connected right now .are your front speakers on an amp or the hu?
list all your equipment and how its set up.
you should be able to get plenty bass goin, no need for a dmm or tones.

Front stage are Pioneer TS-A6881 260 Watt 4-Way 6" x 8" (50 wattas RMS)
Back speakers are Pioneer TS-A6871R 240 Watt 3-Way 6" x 8" (50 watts RMS)
not the best speakers but they do the job. My HU gives them 50 max, 22RMS
Amp is mono kicker ZX750.1 birthsheet states 891 @ 2ohms
Sub is Eclipse Titanium SW9122. Rated 750RMS, 1500MAX.
Some ppl keep saying its 1500Rms.
