12" type R vs. 12" Memphis Mojo

which is better? i heard them both today and they sound similar but people are telling me the mojo is better. help... thanks!

the Mojo will take more power and needs a huge box, the Type R is a great sub and seems to not need as much power.

Overall I am more of a fan of the MOJO

I had the type R's in my cavalier and heard a couple different mojo setups. Overall the mojo will get louder but in my case I always thought the R's sounded better. Plus you do need a good size box for the mojo's. I guess it would come down to budget. The mojo's retail for a lot more than the R's. If you can get a good price on the mojo's and have room then go that route. The R's are good for what they are though.

Heard both of them... sounds pretty similar, but i heard from people the mojo has alot more potential, and it was better. so i was trying to find out for myself

Meh...hard to compare on my end as I have only heard two 15" Mojos versus my old 2 10" R's, but the Mojo 15s sounded better to me. Obviously they got louder too, being 15s, but I thought they sounded better to me than the R's

ya the mojo is geared to get hella loud and take butt loads of power. the type r will take a good amount of power and get loud, but the mojo will take the power like it's nothing. mojo needs a bigger box, but overall the mojo is a beastier woofer. if you have at least 1500w or more to work with, get the mojo. (more power the better)
