Iphone questions

I believe im going to purchase an iphone in the near future and i have a few questions. The biggest question is what are the pros/cons of the different generations. There are now 3 gens, and im curious what is better about each, since for the first generation ebay prices are like ~200 but 3rd gen is like 700. and i know the newer ones have a bigger memory space, but i dont really need more then 8 gb so should i just get the first gen?

I believe the new ones are faster, have better 3G thingies, more capacity, etc...

There are only 2 versions out. The old one which is 4 and 8 gig and the new one which is 8 and 16 gig. I would say get the new one. It is 400 new at AT&T or the apple store. I say get the new one and jailbreak it. I am scared to unlock it, but that can be done as well.

There are only 2 generations of iphone. The first has a metal backside but doesn't have 3G network capability. The second generation has a plastic glossy backside and has 3G network capability and has up to 16 gigs of storage for music, photos, videos and the likes. If you don't mind having att as a service provider I would wait until after june to wait and see if they release a newer version of the iphone.

and ive had att for over 8 years now... so not looking to change. i just want a new phone NOW lol, my palm just took a shat and i dont want the centro insurance sent me.

Only thing I see is maybe a 32 and 64 gig model for 1 and 200 more to existing customers. I'd buy the 64. And a firmware version 3.0 is supposed to be coming soon. If it allows you to send picture messages, that would be great.

I suggest not getting an ifail but if you must then i'd wait for the next gen to come out.

I have the 2nd gen,

Pros Very easy to jail brake/unlock the phone

Cons: big bulky, not much room for 8 gigs

3rd gen
Pros:sleek, small, lots of space 16/32 gigs

Cons: hard to jail brake, 3g is hard to get in places, you pay a extra 20$ a month compared to the 2g

I suggest not getting an ifail but if you must then i'd wait for the next gen to come out.

why? no other phone really catches my eye.

If you can't wait for the next gen to come out this summer I wouldn't get anything under the 3G. The resale value of anything lower will get diluted the more outdated they become. The update this summer (free for 3G users) will add multimedia texting, copy and paste, etc. Sad that they have to add these things but atleast it's free for the newer phones.

I have a jailbroken 16GB Black 3G, love the phone! Once it's jailbroken it's a whole new phone. You'll enjoy it. Also invest in a good quality silicone case for it. I have a Incipio gel / shell combo.

Please STFU..... There is no 32 gig iphone. And it wasn't hard at all to jailbreak my phone. quickpwn and a sense of following directions is all you need

They just add 30 bucks to your existing plan is all. Texting is extra though.

What kind of apps do you have for yours? I got a few. I got the Steelers theme and 5 buttons on the bottom.
