installing subwoofer 2002 ford exp sport trac

I have a 2002 ford explorer sport trac.

I would like to replace or bypass the factory amp and add subwoofers.

I need to know if anyone has the technical info on the wiring and what goes to what.

I just need help if any one can walk me through it.

well basically if you just want subs...u must first acquire a suitable amp that can provide sufficient power to the sub(s). also keep in mind that the amp you purchase must have speaker level inputs since almost all factory hu's don't offer rca preamps.

then to wire, jus connect the hu to the amp by connecting inputs, and remote power lead (so ur amp shuts off when leave your car). then run a power wire from your amp through ur car to the engine also making sure to have an in-line fuse before you secure the power to the + battery terminal. the ground wire can go from your amp to anything touching the bare metal of your car (seatbelt bolts work nice). lastly connect the + and - terminals to your subs and ull be thumpin.
