new to the whole car audio thing but very interested. don't know which sub is good for a beginner like myself.

i saw some infinity 12" references on sale locally. 1200W max, 300W RMS. is one of these in a ported box good enough to hit close to hard? lol:crazy: if so, what amp and specs should i run it with?

or should i get 2 of these in a sealed box?

or another brand and setup all together?

any opinions are welcome.

THANKS (dont laugh @ me please)//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

hey man, hows it goin? i have a infinity 1230w in a ported box with a audiobahn A8000T hooked up to it and it rumbles **** good...... people can hear me from a block away...its good sound for a begginer or for someone that isnt tryin to showoff.....

i have 1 ref 1242 12'' sub ported in my room powered with a pioneer gm-7100m and it hits real nicely, it shakes and rattles the entire house. When i put it in my bro's car, man was it loud and hard to breath. we were shooting quarters off the trunk and the outside of the car would even flex. this was in a tuarus.

haha good replies so far. thanks you guys. the sun shines brighter on the infinity's

more opinions? possible better newbie set ups?

thanks for the help.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

:laughs at you: //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif hahahaha.

J/K. So what exactly is the sale price on em?

Are you just trying to get loud?

one 12" ref is like $70-80.

i just want what i got in the trunk to hit good enough to feel the base. i want some "umph" in my car that is lacked by the interior speakers. the more "umph" the better though =)

I am leaning more towards the refs though, until someone tells me other wise. still questioning if i should get 1 or 2 and what enclosure and amp to go with. thanks!

if your get lucky, you can win one on ebay for $.01 plus shipping.

no joke, ive seen a couple go for under 10$ on ebay. i cant remember if they were new, but they were functional.

i was tempted to get one myself, but i dont have 20$ for anything, even if it is an amazing deal like that.

i couldnt tell ya how they sound tho, ive only seen them online.

oh are these the bottom line ones? I have only heard em in one that was installed by ultimate electronics, who I might add had some terrible installers. They were 2 10s sealed running off 500 watts and I have definately heard 6.5" speakers get louder. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif I'm sure the install played a big part in it lol... but I way very disappointed when I heard em.

hmm 2 12" ref 1240w? or are sony p5's better (i know i shouldnt have even brought them up but they are in the same price range. theres a split between people who hate them and people who say they're good) or maybe 2 10" or 12" of rockford's ps1

is there any other combo of 2 12" thatll have better potential for that price range ($75-100ish)? or maybe 1 12" thatll be in that price range thatll out do any of these 2 12"s?

sorry for my newbie-ness hahaha thanks
