Just wondering if there will be a sound difference between high qualty RCA's

(monster high end stinger etc)

and lower RCA's (Knukonceptz' klear konnect)

The RCA's will be going to my amp from my JL XR comps. Also, will a line driver/external crossover w/ line driver help at all?

My deck is an Alpine 7893

no difference at all... only thing that matters is if their gold plated terminals to withstand corrosion.

and possibly in the long run the expensive wire will last longer. other than that u will only tell a difference if u had superhuman hearing.

Actually Monster Cables Do make a HUGE difference. In home video. they carry a signal better then the cheap-o wires you get with your VCR/DVD player.

Thanks for the help guys! you probly saved me about 50 bucks

yeah, in home audio stuff, many professionals have been successfully passed the blinfold test, when two different cables were used.

I don't think that is true with car audio... and what you are saying is video line. In car audio, it's mostly audio signals... and within the confines of a car, you can't hope to get utter silence. As car audio and electronics said "you'll run out of money long before you can hear a pin drop on the back seat at 60mph" I guess you should pay more attention to the terminal itself, and how well it is made. DIY RCA calbes state that the center wire must be as tight as possible. WIth monster cables, when you screw them open, they are on pretty tight...cheap cables slack is visible... I personally don't know, though... my home stereo has all the monster calbe goodies (M1 speaker cables, etc) but in the car, I used what I had, whitewolfs..when I needed more, I just bought some decent looking ones.

Wire makes no difference in home audio either. Wire is wire spending $1.50 a foot for regular wire or $1000 for kimber cable you will not be any change other then the more expensive stuff looks better.

There is no difference to be heard/seen in wire so long as it is made correctly. It's true that the cheap generic stuff you get with a DVD player or whatever is generally not made well. The most critical part of the wire (believe it or not) is the connector. If it's loose or poorly designed, your sound is going to suffer. Monster cable is well designed, but not worth the money. You know that Monster cable is actually made by either Canare or Belkin (forget which). In fact, the majority of brand name cable is made by those two companies. You can make DIY cables using those components, and as long as you do it right, it will sound just as good as Monster's most expensive cable, for a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of the price. If you don't want to make your own RCAs but want good quality, well-made cables without paying the stupid prices that Monster charges, there are a number of shops that sell cable on the cheap. Off the top of my head, http://www.bluejeanscable.com is a good one.

I've heard that the cross braided RCA's are better, maybe a myth. ALso look for a good outter coating, thicker for less noise entering.

There was a blind test done once --

A well known audio engineer was debating the use of high end cables for home audio with a sales rep trying to sell some ultra high-end home audio cables.

The engineer set up a double blind test with the ability to switch between 2 signal cables. One set was the sales person's cables - the other used a regular copper wire for the negative and a few feet of metal conduit tubing for positive with a few inches of copper wire soldered on each end to make the connection to the equipment. Obviously the signal wire/pipe was hidden from view.

The sales person couldn't determine which one was his cable.

i have to dissagree ive used cheap rcas you can get from the 98cent store and i found the difference to be night and day compared to my monstercable rcas with the cheap ones the sound is not as clean or as loud causesing you to have to turn the gains up on the amp just to get good sound
