I'm putting together a complete system.

Cuts out, comes back on... boom boom... out... a minute later boom boom... out. I really can't honestly figure out wtf is going on. 9 years ago, I bought a **** Solo Baric L7, Hifonics Brutus 1500w amp, and a prefab sealed box, couldn't tell you what gauge wire I used and didn't have a single problem. Car bumped for 10 hours straight from NC to NY 2 days after install.

I can't even get this setup to play for more than 5 minutes.

I understand I'm not a car audio guru, but what could I possibly be doing wrong? It's 4 **** connections for power. I turned the gain up to 72/80 for a song if that clipped the amp to death, then these amps are effing garbage.
So gain is set over 7/8 the way to max.... Is it just me or does that sound like it should be cl........ Sorry I went into protect mode just thinking about it.... Clipping?

May be worth taking it out to check both coils and double checking that it's not wired to 1 ohm.
Faulty rca connection maybe? Does the power light stay on the whole time... Maybe check your remote wire too while your at it

Gain is not set over 7/8. That would be 70/80. It was running at 65 now on 60/80 which is 3/4. Still @ 3/4 and even if clipping, the amp shouldn't be cutting out after only 2 minutes of playing.

This may be the problem, now that I'm looking at the wiring diagram I used. Hopefully I didn't blow the sub again. Luckily that wasn't the issue the first go around,

being that the kicker had the easy wire adapter system.

actually man clipping does make the amp cut out like that. Check your wiring man, also use a multi-meter to check the resistance of your grounds, see what ohms it read. Also do a test and use the multi-meter with the inputs connected to the amp + and negative terminals. Then play a bass heavy a song at full blast and see what the voltages read.

before making orders in the future, make sure to check back with the forum to see if your order is correct, you've been mismatching the impedances for a lot of stuff.

The forum told me to order this lol. The JBL amp and the SQ sub. Literally exactly what I have is what I was told to order.

Idk who told you to buy a jbl amp but they are an a hole... Why didn't you just get a sq amp to go with the subs?
