Im considering the math. If it costs $50 to build my own box, and it takes me 3 hours to build, thats essentially costing me $150. A win/win would be to find someone to build a basic 2.5^3ft box for $100 locally.

I've never been quoted that price locally. Then again, I'm in LA. You get a quote from CSCStang? Seems like it should be the most hassle free way. If you decide to carpet it, you'll need to buy that as well.

Still, prefab crap costs more than building your own and you get nothing out of it. Local, you might get a cool guy or youll get fools charging you 250 or more for a local simple ported box.

Heck, if there are no builders, you can learn a new side business of box building. To make up some of the costs.

Im almost certain it wont be worth it to even look locally. Theres nothing on CL and the local audio stores are very expensive.

One of my local shops quoted me 6 bills to build the box I wanted cscstang quoted me 350 shipped... We changed the way I was gonna have it built a bit but I had to cancel on the local shop... I was just contacting him about etched plexi and I'm getting a lot more now

Prefabs dont cost that much more to buy. Found a few tuned in the 30s for 80+

Try to find a probox Superbass single 12 if you insist on buying a pre fab... It's built of the same as the atrend and other one tuned to like 36-38 something like that but it's gotta decent coating of Bedliner on it to make it more rigid/ durable compared to a carpeted box with no internal bracing and such
