Im choosing the AQhdc3 18 over the FiQ 18

xmax means very little where output is concerned. The hdc3 will take more than 2000 watts

i think you will like whatever you are deciding between... any of the subs mentioned are great street beat subs... Lots of people say the R's sound like crap compared to a treo, IA, FI, SSA, you name it...but fact of the matter is they play just as loud as any of em... great street beat subs...cheap, and handle a lot of power

but bigger xmax SHOULD mean more potential to move air

how does the AQ have potential to get louder... isnt the reason most people go with the Q because it has more Xmax....
but all n all... I have read that the HDC is compared to a DD9515 as far as output and power handling.

I jsut left a review on my thread, and someone elses on my 18" Q FL... so far not to impressed...dunno how close to fully bumpin I am though...still kinda in a break in period...change in my cup holder is barely makin noise...which I don't like... gain is at half way (2000rms@2 ohms)... so there can't be to much power left to give it before its in a dangerous power limit... no door flexin so far... just my .2cents

when i had my 2 BTL 18s i didnt get any crazy door flex or wipers jumping around, you might be going into this with too high expectations, some cars just built different and flex alot more

what kind of box is it? what kinda amp?

AQ hdc3 18 in a 6ft^3 ported box tuned to 34hz with a AQ2200 at 1ohm in my Grand Cherokee

box and install is perfect

I'd go with the Fi Q. My 10", 12", and 15" sounded great. I'm sure the 18" would as well

my whole goal was to go from my 2 15's type R's in a smaller than recommended box to an 18" sub that had good SQL where I could TRY sealed, and if it didnt keep up with the 15's, try ported.. Figured upgrading quality of sub it would do the job..

The R's had some decent trunk/door/windshield flex.

its a 5cu. ft sealed box...maybe like 5.2, but I made the smaller box so I could throw it a little more power.. its on an Autotek MMX3000.1 wired @2 ohms @2000watts, 1/2 gain. I really don't care about flexing...Id just wanted something that puts pressure on the ear drums when I want to slam it..as i said.. we'll see in another week or 2 once its fully broken in.
