Im choosing the AQhdc3 18 over the FiQ 18

If your buddy has one, don't you know how the AQ sounds?

X2...if he has one or just recently ordered one just wait and see how it sound's before you decide which you want to purchase.

edit: well just get the Q then. Either sub would be a good choice and I'm more then willing to bet you would be happy either way.

If you mean shyting on it as in getting louder then, yes. The AQ has potetntial to be louder than the Q.

its a 15" vs 18 so even though he has mo0re power it would be close, could go eithe way depending on the install quality

I was READY and ABOUT to order my FiQ 18 with the AQ2200 at 2ohms THIS Monday till a friend of mine convinced me to get the AQhdc3 18" with the AQ2200 at 1 ohm....
What you guys think about this...I wanna be really convinced Im making the right choice.

I got an 01 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Im mostly about SQ/SQL

But SQ wise...is the FiQ18 system just about equal to the hdc3 18 system???

The Aq will sound just as good as the Fi if not better. The Design and build of your enclosure will be the biggest detrmining factor of how it sounds. The Aq requires a break in period before slamming on the low stuff, to avoid any potential motor noise.If you plan on using an 18 and 2200 watt amp I doubt your main concern is SQ:laugh: I bet your looking to get loud and maintain some listenable amount of clarity Aq will fit what your looking for, I have a pair of the AQ HD 12's and they play amazingly well in the 30-35 hz range. Very full clear bass and not a hint of any motor noise. I am running the pair on Mmats 2200.1 and they seem to want more power. Aq has a awesome product and some of the best service i have ever see.

Def x2.... The AQ by no means sounds bad at all. They are two completely diff woofers.

how does the AQ have potential to get louder... isnt the reason most people go with the Q because it has more Xmax....

but all n all... I have read that the HDC is compared to a DD9515 as far as output and power handling.

I jsut left a review on my thread, and someone elses on my 18" Q FL... so far not to impressed...dunno how close to fully bumpin I am though...still kinda in a break in period...change in my cup holder is barely makin noise...which I don't like... gain is at half way (2000rms@2 ohms)... so there can't be to much power left to give it before its in a dangerous power limit... no door flexin so far... just my .2cents

I just dont want any dirty sounds...

want clear-clean bass that wont sound shitty
