I'm almost ready for the build *Pics inside*

Where are you getting these amperage measurements from?
nG
My buddy has a nice craftsman DMM, I'm not sure what setting he used exactly but Im sure I could figure it out and do the same with my cheapy DMM also. I just know how to use mine for ohms and voltage but he put it on amperage and put it against the alt power and ground.

lol last night was cold as hell man, why didnt you just wait for today (really nice out). It would have been alot easier to run the wire with the seats out //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
Nice build cant wait to see it finished with those sexy BTL's
I'm more north than you, I have done some work today but its snowing outside so Its hard to do much. I really just started cleaning up the engine bay and vacuming a little. Tommorrow when stores are open I plan on buying some wood and making a battery holder and amp rack. It wont be anything super great but it will get the job done.

I spied Nom Nom's. Hell with the install!
Ahh yes my Mom's pizzas, so good. Makes the install go by much faster.

LMFAO...

Not how you measure the actually output amperage.

You need a LOAD on the alternator.

well maybe you could better explain to me as that has not been something I have ever done or looked into, again I am still learning here and this is really my first big build by myself. Im guessing by load you are reffering to the draw from my amp and nothing else. There fore I really cant test anything until the entire instal is done?

11s? You taking about the Diamond D6s? They are 12s and this summer me and my buddy are going to use them for track and field training, were both going for discus. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

if its anything like my xterra, i had to take my a/c shit out just to get to my alt when i was freezing out too
Nah, not quite that bad but its almost under the motor so its hard to get to and the bolts were kinda rusted on so I needed to pound and yank on it. If it wasnt 25degrees it would have been a little easier but between the cold and all the small hastles it was a lot harder project than it should have been

No, you need to have a constant and predictable steady load on the alternator itself.

An alternator doesn't just sit there and put out 250amps... if it doesn't need to. There must be that demand on it.

Easiest thing to do would be to go to an Autozone/Advance and have them come out and test it... make sure it's a manager or someone who KNOWS how to perform the test or it's absolutely meaningless. The machine even tells them what to do so as long as they follow that.

That's the closest you'll get to real results... without having an actual benching rig.

I would be referring to the J's on your feet bub

Today I wend to HomeDepot and bought a sheet of MDF, I mad a box to confortably hold all the batts in the back and started making a amp amp rack for the RF. I will paint he box tomorrow and hopefully the amp rack as well . Thanks

I left my camera cable at school so I will get pics this sunday hopefully. As for updates I have three things left. That should all be done today.

I need to drill my firewall hole and just connect the 1/0 to the fuse box I have waiting in there.

I need to ground my batts and amp

I need to cut my amp rack and screw it to the back of the seats.
