Because Jesus is God. I know this is hard to grasp unless you have been brought up in the religion, so i'll try and break it down a little more.
The trinity: God, Jesus, The Holy Ghost. (don't think of it as a ghost) All independent, all the same. Easy to understand, hard to believe. When God sent his "Son" to earth he sent himself, but he did it in a form that Humans could understand. Family was very important to people back then, so the biggest sacrifice you could make was someone of your own family, this is why God had a "Son" to sacrifice for people's sins. So that people would see how much of a sacrifice he was making.
Let me know if that makes any sense.
Cliffs: Jesus is God, so when we worship him, we worship God.
So moses and mohammad and all the other prophets are practically irrelevant? How are they not God in the same sense? I see what you're getting at, but again, God sent several prophets before Jesus, and one after, what makes Jesus so special, other than the fact that YOU were raised believing he is.
Jesus was a man, a man with a message from God. God created miracles for him to help convince people of his message, as he did every other prophet.
The fact that he was born of a virgin, doesn't not infer that God 'was the father' of that child, in any other sense than in saying we are ALL his sons.
This is a good point, the reason I personally worship Jesus as the only way and the only one worthy of worship is because of the Bible, that is what it teaches, Just as the reasons for your objects of worship, are because of what the Quran teaches. But there is a great history in our two belief systems, one of the majoring differences is that Christian based salvation, requires no works on my part, only faith.
Now thatis not to say that it has not caused me to want to do good things, but that Christ paid the price for my salvation, all i have to do is receive it. I am not bound by "tradition" or "practices."

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif I believe in God, the same God you do, and the same prophets you do (should at least...)
Islamic based salvation teaches you that the only way you truly CANNOT be forgiven by God is if you choose not to believe in him. But he is forgiving, reasonable, and all-knowing.
Truly believing in God is by far the most important thing, and the things you do in your life will be judged by him fairly and reasonably and forgivingly when your day comes. And once again, he sees your intentions, not necessarily the act you put on for other people.
