If Christ is the answer, what was the question?

I didn't ask for convenience when I became a Christian. But my faith has made life more convenient. How could knowing that there is something in control, not make life easier.
I like to think I'm in control of my own life. I like to say and do whatever I want whenever I want. I also don't believe in fate. I feel that as long as we can make our own decisions there is nothing set in stone.

Romans 6:1 What should we say, then? Should we go on sinning so that grace may increase
The answer is no, but as humans, we will continue to sin, christianity is a striving to become more like Christ. But we will not obtain that until what's knows as the "rapture."
So why does Christianity focus so much on Jesus, when the whole point, his whole message, is God. As a Muslim, I believe in all of the prophets, but I don't believe that we should worship any of them the way Christians generally worship Jesus and claim he is 'THE' son of God, which is the stuff I always end up arguing with Christians about when we're talking about religion or God.

People seem to think Muslims go around worshiping Mohammad and praising him the way christians do Jesus, but in reality...I mean even the Quran talks much more about Jesus and all the other prophets than it talks about Mohammad, it barely mentions him compared to Jesus or Mary, and we see God as the only one who anyone should be worshiping or praising.

Well, I completely understand that. But how certain are you that there isn't anything in stone?

There are several ideas, in regaurds to "life" that you have to address before you can be sure of anything.

Here are a few.

Origin of life - Darwinian Evolution is becoming more and more disproved as science develops.

Purpose of life - Wouldn't you like to think that there is some greater purpose to it than a "random happening" such as most Athiests would argue.

What happens at death - Why is it such a bad thing to be secure in the knowledge of what happens after death?

I used to feel te same way as you, I was "in control" I had it all figured out, I knew what I wanted, well you know where that truly left me? Dissatisfied, angry, confused, and purposeless.

Because Jesus is God. I know this is hard to grasp unless you have been brought up in the religion, so i'll try and break it down a little more.

The trinity: God, Jesus, The Holy Ghost. (don't think of it as a ghost) All independent, all the same. Easy to understand, hard to believe. When God sent his "Son" to earth he sent himself, but he did it in a form that Humans could understand. Family was very important to people back then, so the biggest sacrifice you could make was someone of your own family, this is why God had a "Son" to sacrifice for people's sins. So that people would see how much of a sacrifice he was making.

Let me know if that makes any sense.

Cliffs: Jesus is God, so when we worship him, we worship God.

This is a good point, the reason I personally worship Jesus as the only way and the only one worthy of worship is because of the Bible, that is what it teaches, Just as the reasons for your objects of worship, are because of what the Quran teaches.

But there is a great history in our two belief systems, one of the majoring differences is that Christian based salvation, requires no works on my part, only faith.

Now thatis not to say that it has not caused me to want to do good things, but that Christ paid the price for my salvation, all i have to do is receive it. I am not bound by "tradition" or "practices."

After reading some other responses to what I said, I guess the true belief in Jesus as a sort of higher being doesn't warrant that you sin whenever you feel like, but I still think it, in a way, even in the back of your mind tells you that well...I know I shouldn't do this, but its just this once and I've 'been saved' so its not the end of the world. Either way imo Christians in general ought to be more concerned with God than Jesus, and realize Jesus is a prophet, no better or worse than all of the other prophets.
