IA Death Row build log!

Electrical consists of 1 Iraggi 300a alt 2-3 runs of 1/0 and 4 deep cycle batteries(will be buying 2 more)plus the one under the hood.

I have been running my 1 hk for about a year now with just 2 batteries and the alt and haven't seen less then 13.1-4v at full volume.

I have the electrical to back these amps.

Just curious, but fellow wj owner here as well. Where are you making your runs of 1/0 through the firewall? I only need enough room for 1 run. Also, where did you ground the amp, I was going to ground the amp at the battery, but if theres a good spot in the trunk, I'll do it there.

I drilled a whole in the firewall on the passenger side. That is how I ran most of my power wires for the last 12 years.Just easier then trying to find a spot that is useable. However if there is one(rubber graumet) and will work with the wire I am running then I'll use that.

As for the ground I use one of the rear seat bolts that I cleaned up as the ground.I am still debateing on using this for this application or if I should run a full ground wire.

If you look at one of the pics you can see where I am talking about. It is the piece of black wire wire I attached the strapping to.

Since I've also had 4 15's in my Jeep, I'll make a suggestion. Keep the port in the middle of the box and not along the bottom. Try and keep the subs as close to the front also.

Like this:

I could set off car alarms on a regular basis with only being powered by 2200 watts.

This box is way louder than my enclosure with the slot port along the bottom. I've also spoke to some competitors about having the subs closer to the front worked better in a Jeep. Anywho, good luck on the build.

Thanks I will keep that in mind.I have done quite a few boxes for this jeep.Subs up ports back, subs back port back, subs forward ports back.I have heard subs back port back was hte way to go in these with the port just off the rear hatch.Personally I like the subs back port back with alot of port area.

However in this build I am doing a wall just behind the b-pilar.Trying for hair tricks:)

Well I got a little more done today.First I picked up a piece of MDF to start the box part of the build.

Got these new clamps yesterday.48" aluminum clamps from HF on sale.

Got a couple corner clamps as well.

These things are life saver when working alone.

Got the bottom part of the box cut out and seeing if it will fit.

Then I cut the top pieces and got them to line up.

After that it was on to pre drilling and glueing the 2 pieces together

Hoping tomorrow to get the sides and back built. So should have some good progress pics.I keep debating on if I should just do the double baffle like the rest or a triple?I will be using all thread for some bracing and 2x3 for others.
