I know the basics and I was offer 2 10" subs, wiring kit, and a nice head unit for $200.

That is pretty decent. You can't get much cheaper than that. I'd look through the Classifieds for a better, but used head unit. Upgrade your speakers later...

Ascendant Audio Atlas 15" in a 1.5ft^2 sealed box and Crunch pzi2000.1d for $220 shipped will get u a little bump in the trunk and some nice sq for a good price. All you would need is a wiring kit like somebody posted earlier and you're good.

well. welcome to the CA community, i see you have met the many smart ***** of our community, but they are right, if you use the search engine built in you could find some very helpful posts about building a system. the best option for you might be to try and either 1) save and build a better system 2) invest in ea individual piece of equipment, starting with a Head unit, followed by front componets, and then wires for amp, amp, sub(s) and box. hope that helps a lil
