I don't know too much along the lines of bandpass boxes, as in how to design them or anything

i wouldnt put that sub in a bandpass

if u had a type r i would do it

Actully, a properly designed/built BP enclosure will display less distortion than will its sealed counterpart. Im surprised in you 80, being such a BP fan, that you dont realize this advantage. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

The biggest disadvantage with BP is its relatively narrow bandwidth. Even well built BP's, while certainly not being 'one note wonders', still display a fairly narrow useable freq band. Therefore a significant midbass setup is needed to extend down to the BP's freq band, and [try to] match its output level.
