ok i have a 98 land rover discovery and i just got it. it has a premium sound system in it which is made by panasonic. it's got a little sub in the back but it doesn't hit enough for me. the tweeters in the front don't really sound good enough either. plus the cd changer got stolen out of it (before i got it) and i don't really wanna pay $600 for a **** factory cd changer but that seems to be my only option b/c the hookup for the changer is under the passenger seat. anyway i want to put a really good system in there. i want something that i could possibly take to some shows and maybe win. but mostly i wanna sound good, i wanna bump, and i wanna get attention. i have heard i should stay with the same brand through the whole truck and i should go with alpine. i know alpine is really good. should i go with that? what should i do? i don't know that much about car systems, i know some but not that much... i deal with home systems.

please help me out. thanks. oh and any other ideas to make my disco look cool

if you know very minimal amounts of car audio, i highly suggest you don't get an award winning set up. you'll have all this **** in the car and you won't even know how to take car of it and make it run properly. i'd start off small, and upgrade as you needs fit.

my first system im about to put in is only 2 10" subs, i didnt need anything major. i know a good amount of stuff (not a hella lot though) about car audio, so i know what i wanted. but i was not even looking anywhere near award winning systems.

for that stuff, you gotta know what oyu are doing. start small, then upgrade. that's prolly the best advice i can give you. ya, alpine is good, not the best, but pretty good.

The Kappa's have a high sensitivity rating of 93 db so the X802-5 would be fine. A good high sensitivity 8" sub in a properly sized box would fit...
