I upper decked someone today!!!!

Is there job not to ensure everything goes well? I am an analyst. When I find a way to save the government a quarter million dollars, do I get a tip? No. That is called doing my job. Saving the American taxpayers money is my job. I do it and do it well. I don't expect a tip because that is my job.

Not all, but most companies who get their workers to move because of their job pay for the move, and everything related w/ it, like transportation, romm and board, etc. They also, get money just for tipping the movers who'll be there. I know this for a fact, because I've even had friends who had to do so. Some companies give expense money, and the tip money has been $200, all the way up to $1000 in some cases. You dont know to tip movers because you havent experienced that whole situation, but its a very common practice, and most customers do it. Of course all people dont do so, some because they just dont know, or even think of it. I'm just a different person, I guess. I like to take care of the people who do services for ME, and my family. My JOB is to move, and I do it VERY well, but people tip delivery guys forbeing @ their house for 30 seconds, but not the people who've been around them for 3-4 days straight, making sure their personal belongings are well taken care of?

I really do hope u lose ur job. Ur hired for a reason, no where in the agreement does it say they have to get food for u guys/give u guys drinks/ hell even let u use the bathroom. It's a personal choice of the person who gave u guys the work to do. When we hire extra help for our house we do give them drinks and give them lunch. But it's not because we are required to. Just cuse the guy was an as$hole it didn't give u the right to do what u did.

You can afford to make 2300 dollar payments a month, but cant pack a lunch or some water in that Kenworth? I would feel bad for you, but I can barely afford 310 a month car payment. Must be nice.
You guys are missing the point........its not that we NEED food and water, its not even OFFERING anything @ all. We bring stuff, of course, but there is no one in our business who packs a lunch every day.....it just cant happen.

Also, when I have my tractor/trailer in front of the house, its just not easy to up and go get lunch, nor do we sit and take an hour lunch...ever. We sit long enuff to eat, and get right back to work. Its just how it is. Its just nice when the shipped offers, thats all. I like it when they even take my $$$$, and go pick me something up to eat/drink....thats fine.

In the summer(now), w/ all the running we do, we can easily(and do) go thru 5-10 gatorade's in 1 day.....now we're gonna bring all that w/ us every day?

The analyst that sits @ his desk all day, and does no manual labor might be able to get by w/ a frappuchino in the morning and a diet pepsi the rest of the day, but the real workers need real fluids

read all the posts before you reply.....dummy:rolleyes:

I hope so.
The way he talked, none of the students "meet his expectations"

He said either they lack quant skills, econ/finance skills, or can't speak english. I was thinking if we where Harvard material, we wouldn't be applying to MTSU. It should be only expected that students who apply to MTSU would be lacking in some category. He seems to be used to it.
Congrats on getting in ! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/handclap.gif.0c301076f534e244f0460706894f19e0.gif

I wouldn't expect it to be all that difficult as long as you’re decent with Stats & basic Calc you should be fine. The Profs in my MSF program talked tough but it wasn't that much past differential equations. You have to understand that most low-mid level graduate programs see a lot of “garbage” students each year. The problem is they have to pass enough people to show good external placement but not dilute the program too much. The standards were much higher when the Profs were going through school.

99% chance they are new money. hence the attitude.
to the other posters. a ****ing tip would be nice to give the dude. not like its gonna keep your from paying your mortgage.

you guys say hes a dick for expecting a tip after sweating his *** off moving furniture and tv's and who knows what else, yet you tip the pizza guy, who carries ****ing pizzas for a living, or a waiter, who takes your order....

fuking punk *****es

do you tip waiters?
if they do a decent job. they do afterall handle my food. i did however leave a bad tip one time we went out to a bar, i waited 20 mins for the food i ordered, and then i waited another 20 minutes for my glass of water i requested. on the 200.00 bar tab we had i left teh girl a 4.00 tip. lets say she wasnt happy.

You're still a douche and i still hope you lose your job.
i agree

Different situation.
Waiters don't make minimum wage. Usually they make around 2.50/hr.

Tips are part of being a waiter. I bet you that he makes more than minimum wage...therefore its not the "movees" responsiblity to tip. Is it a nice gesture...yes, but not required.
exactly

....filpx99 wrote....I would never ask a person who hired me for water. I would bring my own water. So not only do they pay you, they also have to give you room and board?

So, say you order furniture from a store. They come to deliver the furniture, take care of you, do a good job, and everything goes well, and you dont offer ANYTHING to them, or dont tip them when they're done?????? If not, you're a douchebag...period

If you're that broke I'll loan you a few bucks, cheap ***
