Different situation.
Waiters don't make minimum wage. Usually they make around 2.50/hr.

Tips are part of being a waiter. I bet you that he makes more than minimum wage...therefore its not the "movees" responsiblity to tip. Is it a nice gesture...yes, but not required.

i know. what i was reffering to, was that they would notice him working his *** off, and cant even acknowledge him. no thank you no nothing.

i personally would have given him a tip. but thats cause im a nice guy with things like that, so i think its messed up when someone doesnt do that.

i think he deserves a thank you at least (if this story was actually true)

ive only known 1 waiter, but she made closer to $5/hr plus tips...so close to minimum wage. but eh, whatever.

I do not go places where tipping is expected.

I was moving a couple today, out of a 2.5 million dollar house. 90% of the time, I get offered something to drink, and get lunch, tip, etc. These people were the biggest as*es EVAR!!! My helpers and I were sweating our balls off, unloading a whole trailer of these people's shat, and was never offered a single glass of water, or anything. I asked them, if they were going out, If I gave them money, could they get us some lunch. The husband said "No, we really dont want to go out for you guys". Thats when I started FUMING!!!!!!!1 hour later, the wife shows up w/ 3 pizza pies, and takes the husband and 2 kids out on the patio and eat right in front of us!!!!! *&$#@(^%#%^&&**(!!!!!!!

After that, I asked for water, and he said......"the spicket is by the garage"

@ the end, no thanks, tip, good job...............nothing....not even a goodbye.....

So as I walked to the truck, I spun around, walked back to the house, asked to use the bathroom....(the only thing they did offer), and took the plate off the upper toilet bowl area, and SHAT right in there!!! Hence, "upper deck"

Most times, we stop, and get drinks, food, etc, so we're good to go. It usually doesnt last too long in 90+ degree heat, though. Most times, when I ask, the peeps will run and get drinks, food, etc. But there are times when the above happens....true dVcks. Example..........

I moved Bill Cosby, and our crew of 4 were all white guys. He had soooo much stuff, it took 4 trailers to get it all. We were delivering his stuff, and one of the guys asked for some water, and I swear on my life, that HE, BILL COSBY, said "you know where the spicket is". The whole job, which took 1.5 weeks total to finish, he was the most rude, ignorant person I've EVER moved. He just had a feeling of racism and ignorance coming off him....crazy.

Anyway, I've also been on jobs where as soon as I get out of my truck, the guy hands us each $200 and says, please take care of us, guys. So it kinds evens out.

I always tell my guys, if you dont expect anything, you wont be disappointed.

It is nice when the shipper(customer) offers something to make us more cumfy.

For all you cheap pricks who say the people dont have to give you anything.....you're right, but NICE people take care of people doing a service...period. Christ, when the delivery guy brings my food, I give $5 EACH AND EVERY TIME. I also tip good when @ an eatery....just how I am. I even tipmy mailman around the holidays.

I work for Atlas Van Lines. I've been there or 18 yrs ...started when I was 13 going out on trucks in the summer. My dad ran the warehouse for 20 yrs, and both my brothers own trucks there, as well as I. I actually just bought a brand new Kenworth w/ the twin turbo. Man it drives sooooo nice. I just hate the payment.......$2300 a month:crying:
