Hi all,
Sunday morning, rain and shine, and I think about my sub project.
I have very limited car space for a sub enclosure.
13 inch length or wide
8.5 inch deep
10 inch high, (sub face needs to mount here, therefore 6,5” or 8” is as far as I can go here)
~ 1105 cubic inches
Ideal would be a run a sub on 2 ohm, size 6.5” (or 8" squeezed)
For ideal enclosure calculations I will use the free software WinISD for the build. It stores hundreds of speakers drivers, but sadly not for what I am interested in.
I am interested in a speaker (HD-6M DVC) from CDT Audio, problem is the driver is not stored in WinISD. Contacted CDT Audio - they only could deliver parameters below.
HD-6M DVC Mid-Bass Technical Data
Mounting depth 2.75” (72.9mm)
Cutout diameter 5.75” (147.8mm)
Outer diameter 6.75” (168.1mm)
Specifications
Diameter: 6.5” (165mm)
Sensitivity: 79.74dB
Power Handling: 70 WRMS (150W Pk)
Frequency Response: 42 ~ 4,000 Hz
Nominal Impedance: 2X4 Ohms
Voice Coil Diameter: 1” (25.4mm)
Peak Xmax: 10mm
Magnet Weight: 20oz
Surround: Rubber
Frame: Cast Aluminum
Cone: Coated Paper
Thiele-Small Parameters
Free Air Resonance: 42.39 Hz
Voice Coil DC Resistance: 2X3.4 ohms
Voice Coil Inductance @ 1 kHz: 0.95 mH
Mechanical Q (Qms): 5.179
Electrical Q (Qes): 0.986
Total Q (Qts): 0.828
Compliance Volume (Vas): 7.88L; 0.279ft3
Moving mass, Diaphragm: 45.35Gr
Motor Force Factor: 9.11Tm
Specs above are for coils in series unless specified
Sealed Enclosure: Sealed Box Responses for different sealed box volumes: Qt = 0.94 black, 1.0 cubic foot; 1.03 red, 0.5 cubic feet and 1.2 green, 0.25 cubic feet.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Anybody here who knows WinISD and can tell if above (for me "Chinese”) data can be translated into WinISD ?
Another option is a speaker from Focal P21V2. It’s a single 4ohm voice coil driver that wants 200RMS at 4ohm. This woofer will work in boxes between .35 and .75 cubic feet.
Any other suggestion are highly appreciated!
My amp:
1-Channel 600 Watts RMS Power Amplifier
Power RMS (4 Ohms)1x300W
Signal/noise ratio >85dB (A)
Damping factor 50 to 50Hz
Frequency response (+/-3 dB) 10Hz - 150Hz
