I Need A New HDTV...Budget is 1500 MAX!

If your going to buy a DLP, Mitsubishi's DIamond series cannot be touched.

LCD Go with sony W3000, or Samsungs 71 series. Its a bit more than you want to spend, but its worth it.

Plasma Its Pioneer Elite or nothing.... well panasonic is okay for the jews that read "cosumer reports"

God I hate jew customers. Always trying to find a deal when they dont know shit.

you can get them for a lil bit cheaper at cost co I believe...

Do you have a decent sound system?
Vizio Is probably the worst HD company out there. Their TV's **** and their warranties are even worse. In fact its 50-50 if they are going to acctually warranty your TV, Many of the customers I deal with bought a Vizio and ended up having to trash it after a year because they wouldnt repair them.

You can get a great warranty through sams or cost co I believe.. Where do you get your 50-50 figure?

Vizio seems to be a developing brand which is gaining reputation as time goes.. I think their prices are awesome.. But I cant say much about quality because I never have owned one before... Just saying that I ve noticed it developed some kind of reputation over past 2 years (ads, tv commercials, etc)..

i dunno bout that.... I walked into circuit city yesterday and watched an animated film on a sony TV they had in BlueRay.....Blew my F-ing mind!! You could literally see every hair on the animals faces....Every image seemed to have its own dimension...as if I were literally watching it in 3-D!

That was an LCD probably an xbr4. Not a plasma. And krisfnbs I don't know what your looking at but panasonic plasmas pwn all lcds.

To the op go and get the 50" hitachi 1080i plasma at cc or bb. They have i on sale all the time. Best bang for the buck tv of that size I've seen.

Oh and unless ALL of your programming is in hd don't even think about an LCD.

yes i do
what is wrong with Mitsu. DLP. BESIDES the bulb life...doesnt mean it cant put out a great picture....... They make some EXCELLENT DLP projectors.

Animated film isn't a good bench mark for how good a TV looks...

I got a samsung 50'' 1080i/720p plasma television from hhgregg for right under $1500 with taxes. They also give you 30 days and if you find the television cheaper in a store around them they will give you 110% of the price difference.

^ Do you really have speakers in your headrest like that?
Not anymore, I used to about a year and a half ago., when I first started getting into car audio, it was mainly a joke.

Warranties through sams and costco are shit. They arent authorized and they are like sub contracted repair people. Vizios Tv's are all marketing. The materials to which they build their TV's is trash, which makes for a trash picture.

The biggest thing with HD nowadays is that not everyone can tell the difference between a sony XBR5, and a Vizio(The best and the worst), and when I say best, best can be described as "sharper", "brighter", etc so best really doesnt even work well either. It can get very complicated.

Most people however can tell the difference between the higher end tv's and the lower end Tv's.(and HD Sound)....but for people who are fist getting into it, it can be tougher. They see a vizio as their first HD TV, see the price and are "WOW ITS AWESOME!"... but they dontknow whats on the market.

So buy consumer reports......doesnt work. Consumer reports is hard to go by... it only gives you certain information.

Plasma VS Lcd?... I am an LCD guy. That doesnt make LCD better of a technology VS plasma, but its what I like.

People are always looking for a deal. The cheaper you spend, the cheaper you get. Its like anything with life. Unless you know your getting a crazy good deal, which doesnt happen to often with TV's. Buying from online companies is stupid because you dont get the manufact's warranty, like on ebay and shit(as most people claim you will, but it wont be through the manufact's warranty it will be through their sub contracted B.S)

yeah they are marketed alot, and their are ALOT of people that are just looking for cheap shit, in which case if you own a vizio, you have already wasted your money, because you could have spend a little bit more and at LEAST went with a middle brand- Sharp, LG, Philips(Not as high as sony and samsung but MUCH better than Vizio).

Vizio is all marketing, its like sony speakers rating to be 200w TOTAL MAX POWER etc.... its all bullshit.

i dunno bout that.... I walked into circuit city yesterday and watched an animated film on a sony TV they had in BlueRay.....Blew my F-ing mind!! You could literally see every hair on the animals faces....Every image seemed to have its own dimension...as if I were literally watching it in 3-D!
First off, blu-ray animation will always look better than regular blu-ray movies(and by better I mean more 3d etc....different type of signal), second off, blu-ray will always look better than a regular dvd upconverted to HD. and it just keeps going on and on....

The better signal you send to the tv, the better it looks. The key in finding a good HD tv, is when you are watching cable in HD, a lower quality signal that is not recorded in 1080p more so around 768p,and thats only some channels. Which is why vizio sucks.

Notice how many reputable retailers dont sell vizio?.... Only the cheap companies trying to get boxes out of the door.Best buy circuit city.

All panasonic Plasma's do not pmn(whatever the **** that is) all LCD's because you cant say whats BETTER between the two because its personal preference.

Panasonic's cannot even come CLOSE to Pioneer Elite, especially when you really put the 2 highest of their sets together. not even CLOSE. But not eveybody can afford a Elite 1080p Plasma for 5k.

Hitachi sucks too BTW.

Your absolutely right. Animation is the worst way to comapre tv to tv.

By the way everyone, I dont want to seem like a "know it all" because I dont. I only know what I know because I have worked with TV's for quite some time. If anyone ever had any questions let me know.

I am not biased, I just see it how it is.

Vizio and hitachi sucks, and so does insignia(best buys house brand). ANYONE who says otherwise just doesnt know ANYTHING about a GOOD HD tv.

Its like buying a car, just because you see an ad in the paper for a "good deal" you dont know how that shit runs until you drive it, test it etc.

Its just like digital cameras, just because something is 10mp doesnt make the lens good!

1080P means shit, its all about the processing of the TV.

The Pro1150HD Pioneer elite 50 inch plasma is not 1080p, but it still blows most panasonic's out of the water that are 1080p.

PROCESSING WINS.

HD cable or satilitte cannot broadcast in 1080P, it's either 1080i or 720P. I know for a fact that ESPN-HD is 720P.
Your absolutely right. And even sometimes when espn is "broadcasted" in HD,the pictures are still some-what shitty and blurred. Some previews are not even in HD at all, it all depends on the signal.
