Cable Cards for HDTV?

I have a Pioneer PDP-4280HD tv. I am wanting to upgrade to HDTV obviously since that is why I bought the tv. My question is how do I know if the Open Cable CableCARD will work with my unit? It doesnt specify in the manual and I don't want to assume it can or can not. Anybody know what to do? I know most are going to say get a box but why when I could use the card and get all the features of an ugly box.

Who is your service provider? If its Comcast, you won't get all of he features of the "ugly box". You will get the HD content an all of your premium channels, but you won't have access to their OnDemand service which limits the value of your premiums.
