I need a legit system for around $800

i dislike JL because i have used there products and they just arnt to my stanards and like you said for the money you can get something better so why would you go with JL and if something was to happen and you blow there sub they use like a 2.75 inch voice coil so no one can recone them besides JL so you cant do the re-cone yourself. but if you know what you are doing you should never blown a woofer.
Wrong they can be reconed psi use to and splaudio can iirc. Learn what ur talkin about b efore you speak.

And not up to your standards exactly what setup do you have?

Jl isint junk it's just overpriced

Didn't expect nearly this much help, much appreciated. Realistically gonna settle on the 12'' W6, JL has an impressive reputation with their subs and honestly they're the crispest subs I've heard personally. I was initially gonna go MB Quart on the speakers but everyone was saying that It's no longer produced in Germany and that I'd need to buy pre 2008. They don't make an after market head unit for the 7th generation accords, I need a dash kit for dual climate control. Since this is looking a bit more expensive than I intented I might just hold off on the sub and 2nd amp for this Summer and do it the right way. For now I might just stick with deadending and wire some speakers to my Memphis Class D Power Reference Amplifier 16-PR1x500. Does MB Quart or Polk have a line of speaker that produces pretty good bass?

i know what im talking about a buddy of mine had a JLw7 and PSI said they could no recone it do to COIL size. they didnt have a coil that would fit the motor due to the coil size being 2.75 and no an average 3inch like most commom subwoofers. on1wheel01 your a d-bag

Don't be cheap on the amplifier. If you buy a cheap one, you will almost certainly have to upgrade in future. Get one that pushes 100watts RMS on speaker channels and at least 300watts in bridged mode. I looked on soniceletronix.com and they have a 4-channel Vibe amp with something like this, for $300. Also, you will need to spend somewhere between $20-$60 on wiring the amp (power wire, maybe also the 4 channel preamp). For the fronts, you can get an entry level component set for around $100-$150. Alpine Type R is a supposed to be a decent one. I have one in a box, that I bought for around $125. Infinity Reference CS series components are decent, but handless less power and are cheaper. For the sub, consider a lower end RE Audio SRX (around $100) and a sealed box ($50 shipped tops). Head unit.. well it depends on what you demand. If you want time alignment, blue tooth and rear USB port, then Kenwood X994 is a sweet deal, given the price of $250-210. This setup will cost $1000 at least. If this setup does not fit your budget, then adjust buy buying a less capable head unit, amp, etc.

Sundown Audio SA 12 or a DC level 3 or FI bl> there all great subs an sound great an can get loud as well

a sae 1000d if you can find one or something along those lines for a sub amp

MB quart 2 or 4 chan

Crescendo Audio comps

Wire from classifieds or from knu koncept

Build a box yourself

thats what i would do should be right in your budget an will sound nice an loud

something siple and straight 2 12 ' cvxs 150

hifonics brutus 2000 245

0 gauge and rca's 60

head unit 100

build your own box 60

and you get 185 to spend on what ever else you need

only downside it wont be that loud if the box is small i made one with 6 cubes im suprised they still take all that volume

I can't post a link of a pic of my dash to show you what I'm working with due to the limits on this forum. It's a 7th Gen Accord dual climate control/no nav with the tape player below the stock HU.

AKA Not much room to work with, I could throw a HU under it and uninstall the tape player but that sounds like nothing but a pain in my ***. I honestly just wanna stick with the stock HU. Is there any HU kit that would allow the stock HU to push at least 80% the potential of the stated systems and allow an iPod auxiliary hookup? I've been browsing and can't seem to find one.
