Installed my new HO Alt today.

The one that was on my car was about 14 years old and put out 80 amps when it was new so who knows how much it was putting out lately.

I got a 140 Amp alt from Ebay for $120 shipped from someone with good feedback and a 1 year warranty.

Quite a few people on this board told me the alt was going to be crap, it wouldn't put out any voltage at idle, ect...

Well it def puts out good voltage at idle and everywhere else.

While cranking the system at around 2k RPMs I was seeing only lows of 13.5 volts.

That is much better than before.

I am quite happy with the difference and I guess only time will tell if it will last or not.

This is who I got it from.

Alternator, Starter items in BNR Parts store on eBay!

Never hurts to go a different direction on buying .I am happy to hear that you finally got to replace that old alt, and ill bet your electrical system thanks you forit too..lol:). Deff makes one hell of a difference for sure,.Something also to consider, when you get the money, and time..I recommend doing the big 3 also, in which will complete the cycle for the upgrade you have done. There is a thread on this forum with the steps to do.I recommend it.Nice ..dont forget to keep all packaging your alt came in, as it will be needed for your warranty. Most will not except the item unless orig packaging.Very nice man.I will check that site out as my honda needs an upgrade soon.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/suave.gif.858fc102f7646e678ee8af7e1fbc41d1.gif

They have a 200A alt for my vehicle but it's the wrong year, ffuuuu
They did not list the year for my car either.

I emailed them and he responded that he could make one for me

He wanted $200 or $220 for a 180 amp and said he could also make a 140 amp.

We agreed on the $120 he sent me an invoice and a few days later I had the alt delivered to me.

He answered my emails fairly quickly (1-2 days for response) and so i real happy for what I got.

I just came back from a ride and could not believe that I stayed in the 14 volt range even while playing it up about 1/2 way.

Now when I cranked it up I was dropping to mid 12's but never lower than 12.5

Before I could not crank it without it hitting mid 11's

I am going to buy a better battery fro the front next month as I can use this battery in one of my off road trucks

I already have done the big 3 - wouldn't be smart running almost 2k RMS without it.

Also if you have a Honda you need to bypass the ELD if you have not done so already.

It is very simple and costs about $1.00
