Hello guys,
I am absolutely new to the car audio scene and obviously need some assistance here.
I have a 1996 Golf Cabrio that I decided to put some music on.
This is what I bought:
- Clarion WQ3010D Subwoofer (powered by a Clarion XR2110 amp)
- 4 Alpine SPE-6000 speakers (powered by a a Clarion XR2410 amp)
I decided to buy those speakers since I read that my 4 channel amp was delivering 60Wx4. So, I read that the SPE-6000 were also 60W so I bought them.
Now it seems to me I did something very wrong here because I have to set the gain at a very low level for the speakers not to saturate. Could I have done something wrong or is it just that the speakers are too weak for this amp?
The subwoofer seems to be working fine with the other amp.
Also, 2 days after installing the system the speakers started doing a funny noise sometimes... as if there was interference somewhere. DId I blow the speakers?
Huh... so confusing for me. Sorry for the dumb questions. I would really appreciate some feedback here.
