I have to run 6 300 amp fuses?

200 amp fuse is overbuilt and underrated.
That is the most retarded thing I've heard all week. Just accept that you have a 2k amp and move on with your install.

and the ambient temperature isn't going to effect a cables current handling capability, thats just ludicrous!!
Wrong. Higher temps means lower conductivity. So you will need to send more current at higher temps or less current at lower temps to equal the same amount of power.

On another note, car amplifiers do not pull a constant load. So there is little harm in car audio manufacturers over-rating power cable as long as its only used for daily use car audio.

Sure a 0ga cable can't handle a constant 300a load over (x) minutes. But with car audio you are only getting spikes of current when the bass hits so it is no where near constant and your average load over time will only be a fraction of your max load.

250a-300a fuses are fine for car audio.

I certainly agree an amp (car or home) won't draw a constant load like an air conditioner or electric range will (unless test tones are used). 1/0 in a hot car is only rated @70 amps (continuous at 176 degrees F ambient). I'm not sure one can safely assume the average load is 25%. From what I hear at stoplights, bassheads choose music so their subs never get a rest. The fact the wire can't be UL (or any other credible testing agency) approved for ampacity over the National Code also means the quality of the insulation is suspect. Its not tested at all. Real wire is labeled with maximun voltage and wire type at intervals not exceeding 40" (the AWG every 24").

I have had a fuseless run of 4/0 for over a year now... no fuses in the battery bank either...
so far, so good
Kinda like driving without car insurance. You CAN save some, or lose everything. Fuses are cheap insurance and no monthly payment. Then again I don't go to the boats and give my money away either. To each their own.

so is the Peerless, or the Vifa made in China?
or possibly the Korean made DD amps?
I honestly have no idea. I'll admit that when it's the case. Most of the crap I read about on this site is Chinese. Perhaps I prejudged you. If so, I apologize.

.
You must have never heard of an ap30001d. Hell there are 100's of people who have proven they do rated power and then some with proper electrical.
