I have a huge problem with "remembering" 9/11

the town I live in has 140,000

and the way you say that, makes it seem even less important.

"wow our country got attacked and only 1000 people died? we got off light"
i was being sarcastic, hence the //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif smilie //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

..... and on top of that, your logic is just plain off. We care about Vietnam/WWII beacause of numbers? Hell millions died in WWI so all the rest are a drop in the hat,they're "nothing" by comparison //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif ......

See: why are we arguing post

Didnt read this whole thread....

But maybe the people arent mourning the loss of life so much as they are their own sense of security.

Before 9/11, I doubt the average American would have EVER thought something like that would or could happen......

Now, I think most people just feel as though its a matter of time before something similiar (if not worse) happens.

you guys made me miss my 1000th post //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
not to mention the fact I don't even know why we're arguing. If you're sad about 9/11 then that's fine. But I don't push my views on you so don't push yours on mine.

All i was saying is that 9/11 is nothing compared to pearl harbor or vietnam.

I'll I'm saying is your view is based on poor logic. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

for all you know remembering vietnam is pointless in my opinion as well, due to the fact that wwII was much worse.

assuming = teh suxor

by my logic

WWII = boohoo

Vietnam = not that bad but worse than 9/11

9/11 = why even bother

IF that's what you think i think

that's assuming im' telling everyone to care about vietnam, which i wasn't.

i hope i'm understanding your thought on my logic

Close enough. That's a sad way to view it though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

like I said, why are we even arguing. i never knocked anyone, i was just making a point based off what someone else said.

you can feel however you'd like as long as it doesn't affect me. and you can also believe you know how I feel, because that doesn't bother me either.

"WWII = boohoo

Vietnam = not that bad but worse than 9/11

9/11 = why even bother"

because ^that^ is not how I feel, i was just trying to figure out what you meant by my logic if flawed and i'm better at visual thinking //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

lets all just be friends.

Edit: oh jeez hoss is reading this now and now he's going to argue with my point that i quoted him on

ok commence the gay jokes now

I've talked to several people today.. co-workers.. friends.. people on the net.
No one was connected to anyone that died there in any way... yet they were all telling me how sad it was and how bad they feel. Yes. It was a sad thing. It was a loss of many lives. However... why in the world would you, someone who had no connection to any of these people... feel sad about it 5 years later? Hundreds of thousands of people die every year. A lot of them for no good reason. Are you mourning their deaths? Deaths of cancer patients?? Deaths of children who were killed in accidents?? Deaths of people trying to help those who are down and out that get caught in the middle of a battle and get killed?? Deaths of firefighters/police/EMTs?? Deaths of other heros?

No.

Why? Because that doesn't make you a part of a nationally recognized big event.

Anyone who's still "mourning" 9/11 is just lying to themselves. They don't really care.. they just want to say what they were doing on some day that everyone remembers so that they'll feel special.
move to Cuba, you would be more fit there

This is one of those instances where if you have to explain the answer to a particular person you are wasting your time. He either "gets it" or he does not.
